The name owes to the red sand on the beach. The water in front can be calm due to the underwater rocks that shield it from the brunt of the waves that come in, although on big wave days, the sea can get a bit rough. </p> <p>On calm days, if you swim out to the edge, there's actually some underwater sea reef arches you can swim in.
