Most often, when you tell people about steemit social media and how rewarding the system have been to its users. Many questions will arise ranging from how the community generate the money been paid to their users, etc. Even most people who have been in the community newly are equally confused about how the steemit reward system operates especially those who are not conversant with cryptocurrency.

The few months I have been in this community have offered me the opportunity to read so many articles about cryptocurrency and the workings of steemit. I can say without fear that steemit community is one of the best project I have witness in our generation. This is a community that encourages original content writing by rewarding the writers through upvote by many community members that likes the post. This reward system introduced by steemit has encouraged people to go back to content writing thereby exposing people to new knowledge.

The followings are the few things we should know about the reward system.

(1)You can earn reward as an author through writing of quality content. Note that you don’t earn this reward only because you wrote quality content, but the amount of reward you get in content depends on the numbers of people that upvote your article and the quality of their voting power. You might be surprise that you come across a well writing article with less reward.

(2) You can earn reward as a curator by upvoting other people post. In other words when you see people post and cast your vote, you’re sure of getting a little percentage from the earnings of that article.

(3) You can also earn reward by commenting intelligently in post writing by others. From my experience this is the easiest way to earn a lot of reward from many authors in the community. It is sad that most people don’t spend time to read article in other to understand the message the author tend to send across. Most authors appreciate it when you read their work properly and give your contributions or observations about the work. When you make intelligent contributions to the works of authors who appreciate such contributions, you’re sure of getting an upvote from the author and others who like your contributions.

Note that these rewards earned from article, upvotes and comments are transferred into your wallet account after seven days which is the expiration period of the post. The payout comes in two ways, as steem power (SP) which will be powered up in your savings account inside your wallet automatically.  The SP that is powered up gives you influential power over upvote. It also come as SBD, this is the one you can easily cash out immediately if you so wish.
