Jesus Christ in his final moments on the cross encountered a theif who was also killed on the cross. Jesus later promised the  thief paradise with him. So one may want to ask if it is preferred to die on the cross or to be baptised because as we know after the time of John the baptist, baptism was then a commandment. A practise which believers should follow towards salvation.

>*And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.*




Well, at the time of crucification of Jesus Christ,  the thief on the cross had no option of getting baptised. He for no reason could be brought down from the cross until he was dead. Also, the promise of Christ to him makes his case different. He had the saviour, the law maker assure him of paradise.  That was enough to get him to paradise with Christ.  However, it is not wise to preffer dying on the cross to baptism because baptism is a mandate given to the disciples of Christ that they must do and have new converts also do it.
