**Chinese New Year Day 1 was super eventful.** ## At church We started our day with praise and celebration at church. Although many had gone back to hometown and left a handful of us, it was our practice to not close church. And even if it left just us the family, we would continue too, who knows someone need to walk into church to be prayed for. Here is a photo of four of us ladies with Chinese New Year theme's attire.  ## Lunch at Peranakan Place  And then we had lunch at a newly-opened restaurant called **Peranakan Place**, a colourful concept of ambience with the design from Nyonya culture and heritage.   Husband ordered 3 sets of 'Pai Tee' for the 3 tables we occupied. **Pai Tee** is a famous Peranakan dish, made of thin and crispy pastry tart shell in cup-shape, filled with shredded Chinese turnips, with other mixture of thinly sliced vegetables and prawns, this one topped with a cashew nut too and a hinge of their sweet chilli sauce. Hint to eat — just put the whole thing into the mouth and chew and enjoy. Hmmm...yumss!!!  I ordered a bowl of **Nyonya Laksa.** It was a delicious bowl of coconut-milk based broth cooked with their nyonya curry paste, poured over noodles and served with fresh shrimps, tofu puffs, fish cakes, bean sprouts, shredded cucumbers and egg. I somehow love the laksa served here as the broth was not overly thick which tend to make me feel bloated. The broth here was just nice, and savoury and of course appetizing. I finished the whole big bowl.  ## Family Photos After lunch, we walked to the centre of the mall which was beautifully decorated with Chinese New Year atmosphere, great for photo taking. Here were some family photos taken.       According to Chinese calendar, this is the Year of Rabbit, so there are some rabbit decorations too. Additional photos with rabbit. 🐰😁    ### Gathering with relatives After a satisfying family photos, we headed on to relatives house for some gathering. I really loved catching up with relatives and loved ones. The adults enjoyed great chit-chat at the table full of food and the children enjoyed playing with one another.    # Final thought ***It was indeed meaningful and eventful day. We went home with hearts and tummy full. After resting awhile, we headed out again to watch a show called 'Sakra' with the boys and two friends who celebrate Chinese New Year at KL by themselves. We want to remember although their family is not with them, we can spend time with them too. Anyway, the 'Sakra' show made my brain in a maze, haha. Overall, it was a good movie, but we guessed that they tried to squeeze all the stories in the novels into one movie.*** ***I shall end my blog with a photo of a performer at the mall here. He performed at the same time earning some income if passerby donates to him.
