Forgiveness…
<div class="text-justify">

Do you know that forgiveness is one of the hardest things to do? It’s very easy to say the three words, “I forgive you,” but do you really forgive, or do you just say those words?

A lot of people might argue that forgetting is the hardest part after being wronged, but the truth is, there’s no real “forgetting” without some level of forgiveness involved in the equation.
When I talk about forgetting I don’t mean pretending like you were never hurt or whatever happened did not affect you.

When I talk about forgiving and forgetting, I am talking about choosing not to hold anything against the other person, not letting it shape the way you see this person or the way you carry the pain around. It is letting go completely and being free.

People always say, “I can forgive, but I’ll never forget this or that.” But let’s be realistic. Can one truly forgive while still holding on to the memory like a weapon?
Choosing not to let the past control your future and refusing to play everything over and again at the sight of the person or triggers is where the real work is.

Some days, you might feel like you’re way past everything then boom! A little trigger and you’re back at square one, resenting and cursing this person all over again. The wounds open up and this time you’re not only hating the person, but you beat yourself more for feeling all the troubling emotions again and this is exhausting.

We need to understand that true forgiveness isn’t just about the other person pleading for our mercy but it’s for ourselves too. Letting go of the hurt, letting go of the burden, and being free.

True forgiveness is deciding to never bring it up or allow it to define your relationship with the other person. Even if we aren’t close anymore let the last memories of you not be when you hurt me badly.

If we are being honest, saying SORRY is never enough but what then can we do?

I’d love to share a beautiful song with you all and I hope it inspires someone here today.

The title of the song is ***Sorry ain’t Enough*** by Michael Gerow. This beautiful song was released in 2024.

The song can be interpreted as two lovers who are separated and the same for two friends who drifted apart.

> Know it's too late for apologies, I
Know you hate me, I would hate me too
After all the shit I put you through

While sorry is never enough like the songwriter said, forgiveness should be our priority. Let’s prioritize forgiving people over everything else, if not for anything but for our well-being.

I know it’s hard to forgive, I know it’s hard to unsee the hurt or delete the memories but finding peace is important. Let’s not see or think about the other person and our heart starts racing, let’s not see them as monsters and want to do everything to hurt them back. Let us find peace and peace comes with true forgiveness.

The song highlights a friend or partner who is hurting and trying to fix everything. In this song, we get to see the hurt and tension through the lens of the offender.

> How do I say, "I'm sorry"
When sorry ain't enough?
Sorry ain't enough
Sorry ain't enough

If anyone comes to mind when you read this, then just maybe that’s your cue to genuinely forgive them😃
