The world is a very messy place and for the average Nigerian, it gets a lot worse as it seems like the entire country is already against you from the moment of conception. https://www.pexels.com/photo/a-group-of-volunteers-sorting-clothes-into-containers-posing-together-6995106/ Literally everybody is going through some kind of crisis and with the economy in its worst state ever recorded, the majority of its citizens only look out for their individual interest with no regard for the people around them displaying the negative nature of this species. Growing up as an isolated kid I always wanted to be around people just so I can fit in which moulded me into the kind of person I am today, I try to help people, be super nice just so I can become friends with them. It took time but I soon realized despite doing the right thing, I was going about it the wrong way and the results were not always in my favour. I corrected my ways but that zeal to help was not extinguished, rather it became an ideology I carry on with me till this very day- *Humanity is the best form of religion*. In a country with a populace of over 200 million, 250 ethnic groups and different religions, if we can look past our differences and embrace the one true thing that counts which is our humanity, over 90% of Nigeria's problems are already solved. https://www.pexels.com/photo/photo-of-hands-4630669/ We all know this but because we are blinded by sentimentality, we continue to fight and argue amongst ourselves further tearing the state apart but I believe there is still hope for not just Nigeria but the entire planet if, only if we preach and practice the gospel of humanity. I have never really given much thought to humanitarian activities or any form of reaching out but because of the prompt for the week, it dawned on me that I have been indulging in these activities without even realizing it. Ever since I was 17 there's this culture I embraced which became a part of me and lives in till this very day. Every now and then, I randomly pick up a few of my clothes, step out of the house just so I can give out to people who might be in need. One time it happened while I was still in school, there's this lady I know who works at an orphanage. I gave her some clothes to give to the kids there with a little incentive because I know they will be needing it. I know it does not sound like much but it might just put a smile on their faces because as insignificant as it may seem, https://www.pexels.com/photo/crop-anonymous-person-showing-donation-box-6348119/ it is still better than doing nothing. During my second year in school( university) the very day I resumed I called about three of my coursemates and friends to come collect foodstuffs as I know they never went back home during the school break due to financial issues at home. They were shocked by what I did with one even breaking into tears as school felt like hell and was not expecting any form of help from anybody, she was even thinking of quitting school if the burden becomes overwhelming, thank God she didn't . Within that same semester my very good friend in school lost the apartment she rented and everything in it to flood and that includes her clothes, food items, money and even gadgets as the whole room collapsed. I suggested she come stay with me until she's able to pull herself together and get a new place. We are still roomies till this very day🤣🤣🤣. I strongly believe in reach out and humanitarian services as every person has a role to play to ensure that people going through life's ugliness survives. Who knows we might just be one kind gesture away from achieving World Peace. My name is @Icelover and I encourage everyone to accept humanitarianism as the endgame to our existence here on earth.
