WHY I AM STARTING TO EAT 2 EGGS A DAY AND YOU SHOULD TOO!!!

# I do not only start eating eggs to lose weight, **but also for the many benefits that eggs have for the body.** Most people have no idea how good eggs actually are for you.

*Eggs have got a bad reputation in the past and unfortunately many people still believe in the wrong information about the egg today. Are eggs good or not? Do they cause heart problems? Do they increase cholesterol? Do you have to avoid them? I am going to explain what eggs do to our body and why they are so good for us.*

**THIS IS WHY**
1. Eggs contain vitamins and minerals ~ including vitamins **A,B,C,D,E,K**
1. They have **9** essential amino acids. The egg is the only nutrition that contains all nine essential amino acids.
1. It is cholesterol **lowering** Although eggs contain cholesterol, studies have shown that eggs reduce LDL (bad) and increase HDL (the good cholesterol).
1. It is Calcium **rich** because an egg contains **50** milligrams (5 %) of calcium. Although it is not a major source of calcium, an increased intake may reduce the risk of colon polyps and **breast cancer**.
1. It supports **weight loss**, like I mentioned before. Upon a research by Louisiana State University, participants who ate eggs instead of something else lost weight and gained more energy. 
1. Eggs are **cheap**, you can buy them at a local farmer or at a supermarket at an affordable price. 
1. You can have enough **alternation** with eggs because there are countless ways to prepare an egg. You can eat it raw, or bake it, or cook it. You can also vary by adding herbs and vegetables. 
1. Eggs contain a high content of essential **omega 3** fatty acids, it is a nutrient that is good for the heart. 
1. Eggs **lowers the blood pressure**, how? The peptides in the egg help to reduce a high blood pressure. 
1. They are very good for **the brain**, an egg contains **20 percent** of the daily recommended intake of insulin and choline. A sufficient amount of choline is essential for the brain and the nervous system. 
1. Eggs helps **prevent birth defects** during pregnancy, because they contain folic acid. An egg contains 11% folic acid (44 milligrams).
1. They promote **the growth of hair and nails** by the sulfur, vitamins and minerals that they contain.
1. Eggs are an excellent source of **selenium**, which is associated with the occurence of cancer > in particular **prostate cancer**
1. The choline in the eggs **reduces the risk of inflammation in the body.** Chronic inflammations are associated with an increased risk of osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease, cognitive impairment and type 2 diabetes.
1. At last but not least, eggs are good **for the eyes**. The antioxidants in eggs protect the eyes from exposure to UV radiation. The antioxidants are also associated with a reduction in the development of stare at a later age.
