The young scholar was named Erik. He walked with unsteady steps, with a black coat that was starting to wear out on his shoulders. Sweat was clearly visible on his back from his wet white shirt. The sweat on his face mixed with vehicle smoke and street dust.

A weed tucked between his dry lips. Of the many people on the street, Erik looked gloomy. With a thin smile on his lips, he stared for a long time at the brown envelope he was holding and using as an umbrella as he walked under the hot sun. The large brown envelope was a job application letter.

Erik began to get restless in looking for work. From one office door to another, from one shop gate to another, but to no avail. In fact, he had been in school for years and struggled with books, for the sake of his diploma so that his future would be bright.

The words that there were no job vacancies in every office, factory and shop he entered rang in his ears. His footsteps stopped in a park in the middle of the city square. He sat down listlessly and his shoulders drooped, pensive.

Erik rubbed his face with both palms. He looked around the park filled with people. In the park there were young women doing yoga, there were many teenagers joking with their friends, there were families gathering under the shade of a banyan tree while opening food containers, there were children who looked happy with toy kites, there were also romantic couples of old people whose skin was already wrinkled and whose hair was gray.

Everyone in the park looked clearly happy except for one person, except Erik. Finding reality, Erik was half-desperate, he stared at the white clouds moving in the wind. He closed his eyes and in his heart said, "Sorry, Mom. I haven't been able to repay your kindness"

In the middle of Erik being desperate, suddenly a voice said, "Drink first, your lips are very dry." Said the old man while giving Erik mineral water

Without asking who, Erik with a still gloomy face took the mineral water and drank it like someone who was dehydrated

After drinking, Erik thanked him and asked, "Who are you? Have we known each other before? Or have we met before?"

The old man did not answer immediately, but only smiled faintly and without asking permission, he sat down beside Erik.

"Maybe you've forgotten because your mind is busy looking for a job." Said the old man

"How did you know I was looking for a job?" Erik asked

"From the brown envelope you are holding" replied the old man

"Hahahahahhahha" Erik laughed, "Yes, you are right, I am indeed busy looking for a job. But to be honest I don't know you. Have we met before?"

"Have you seen that little child?" Asked the old man while pointing to a 6 year old girl who was running around with her friends

"Yes, I saw her" replied Erik briefly, "Who is that girl?"

"She is my only granddaughter. Her name is Kirana. You need to know young man, most likely without your help my granddaughter would have died." Said the old man

"Died? I still don't remember." Erik said with a sense of wonder and curiosity

"Two months ago, exactly at midnight, my car broke down. My granddaughter's shortness of breath was flaring up."

"Wait. Yes, yes, yes, I remember now. You are the old man who used to wave his hands on the side of the road while carrying the little girl." Erik said

"That's right. I waved my hands but no one wanted to help me. But, you came willingly. Taking us to the hospital. Thanks to your help, my granddaughter was saved and healthy again. Since then, I have always prayed that God could bring me together with you. I am grateful that today God answered my prayer" said the old man

"What's important now is that I am grateful that your granddaughter is safe and healthy" I said

"Now you keep the brown envelope, I accept your job application. I will make you my personal driver and my granddaughter" said the old man while patting Erik's shoulder

"What? Did I hear you right?" Erik asked with a shocked expression

"No. Starting today, you will immediately work as my personal driver." The old man replied.

"I still can't believe it. For several weeks I have been looking for a job vacancy and now without any application letter and interview, I immediately got a job. Is this a coincidence or a miracle for me? Erik said in amazement.

After a few moments of silence, the old man smiled slightly then said, "There is no coincidence, everything will return to ourselves. Every good deed will return to ourselves, in fact miracles are born from good and sincere deeds. Okay, don't talk too much anymore. Now you are officially working as my personal driver. Come on, take us to the bakery and then take us home. Remember, tomorrow you have to work with enthusiasm," said the old man enthusiastically.
