# Jaguar to Pay Crypto for User Data:

In the linked article we see that the car company Jaguar is seeking to benefit from its customers driving experience, and they will pay cryptocurrency in exchange for that data.

## Revolution is Coming:

It is unclear whether the payments will be made in the IOTA token, or whether Jaguar simply desires access to the _Tangle_ technology proprietary to IOTA, either way it's indicative of the wide reach for the decentralized ledger technology revolution.

This is just the latest in a myriad of cases where blockchain is finding ways to securely store, and deliver personal user data. More than that though, DLT is enabling innovative reward structures, resulting in income for user who voluntarily contribute their personal data as part of the aggregation of a larger body of anonymous but useful information.

Apparently Jaguar sees value in that data, so does Brave, Minds, etc. So the question becomes, would you sell some of your personal data, into a anonymous aggregation, secured by blockchain, for a few crypto tokens?

Make no mistake, data is its own industry now.

As humans become more and more connected with smart devices which track our every move and moment, we are growing a database of information which will be increasingly monetized.

Today you can see this at work on the Brave web browser, with their Brave Rewards program, or Steem with its curation pool rewards for content creators. Minds, Partiko, Dlive, Lumeos, and Actifit are a few other interesting examples, but there are a at least a dozen more functional today, and the list is growing every day.
