Your Emotions and Productivity – The Danger of Comparing Yourself with Others
You would agree with me.
Your emotions rule you and your productivity………

And our emotional state largely determines how best we take advantage of opportunities or not.
Anger, happiness , sadness , weariness , anxiety, depression, excitement………name it all

**The Big Question?**

Should you let your emotions rule you and mess you up?

I bet you would agree the answer is a NO !!!!

You should consistently look for ways of advancing your emotional strengths and reduce the impacts of your weaknesses.

**It’s a well-known fact that we craft our emotions from what we see and hear from people ….especially those we adore …..our heroes…role-models.**

Don't get me wrong.

While you should certainly have role models you try and model your life after.

You should never compare your lives with them.

**Why ?**

You are only comparing yourself to a fantasy.

In real life, your role models (or whoever you envy) are not what you think they are.

And in reality, no one you see is what you think they are.

You only see certain parts of the story- the good parts, and rarely see the person’s doubts, anguishes, and failures.

People rarely share their problems and defects, just the great pictures of their achievements.

So, whenever you find yourself comparing the good parts of someone else’s life to the bad parts of yours, stop yourself. Just S T O P.

You are hurting yourself and actively creating a great source of discontent.

**Bonus:**

**A simple tip on how to develop a more productive emotional state:**

Fill your *bucket* and that of others with lots of positive actions.

Implement the ***Magic 5/1 ratio*** in your lives:

For every saddening and negative moment, ensure you counter it with 5 positive actions and events.

**Be Productive. Be A Better Emotion Manager.**

*What do you think?*

I admit the "productivity blogosphere sections" have been largely abused on the Internet recently.

So much information overload.

Still, it's a topic I'm passionate about and love writing on.
*"Adulting"* is hard and I'm still learning the ropes of life. We all are.

Would really love to read other's thoughts (contrasting ones especially) about my conclusions.
