I decided I could ramble on and confuse users worse at this on this first post by explaining every tiny detail.... but it would be counter productive, so I didn't.

**Most people know about Affiliate programs.  When someone says "click my affiliate link", it's obvious that they're part of a referral program.**

You may disagree.

Most people who try to trick people (just for non-complete transparency), DO NOT say "_my affiliate link_".  They either use tinyurl or bit.ly to hide the fact there is an affiliate link, and just have people click it.

**By me expressly saying there is an affiliate link, already is transparent.**

Now at this stage of the wallet setup, they haven't even done anything yet to decide whether or not they are going to fund the wallet, or even become a lifetime member.  

I fully plan to go into those things as I move forward.

This way I can encourage people to also become lifetime members and to join the referral program too.

...but that only happens once they understand Bitshares more. I don't think dumping this information on them in "step 1" is the way to go.

Does this make sense? :)  I appreciate your concern. Perhaps my reasons better clarify the intention and purpose.

....and to be extra "complete" with transparency.  I actually got 0 referrals in 12 hours.  This isn't going to be as popular as you make suspect.  The 4-5 referrals I do have, I manually did myself, for friends and family.
