Time can make the world strange, as some of the wiser philosophers say. Wraithvine remembered this place, and like most places, it had grown. The streets were paved for one. No longer packed earth. There was a school close to the space where ze had met hir downfall.

And there was the instrument of it. Older. Wiser. Still with the twinkle of mischief in his eyes. Teaching a gaggle of small children some elementary magics. Some of them also _elemental_.

"Of course you haven't changed. Time skips past you, great one," said Oryn by way of greeting.

"Great one? _You're_ the one who beat _me_," said Wraithvine. "I should be calling you 'great one'." And, in proper Wizarding manners, Wraithvine bowed. Doffing hir hat in respect.

The children who recognised Wraithvine gasped in awe. Those who didn't got the update from their friends.

"It's true," said Oryn. "I proved the worth of simple spellwork by  crafting the very downfall of Wraithvine hirself."

Some confused listeners looked to Wraithvine. Confounded by the fact that Wraitvine was obviously hale and hearty before them.

Wraithvine sighed, "I slipped on ice he created and fell on my... dignity." And rubbed hir rump in memory.

Gales of laughter from the neophytes. The smallest of them laughed so hard they peed themselves. And for that, Wraithvine could help demonstrate the usefulness of simple spellwork.
