***Dourdan*** (*a town in Essonne*) is only a few dozen kilometers from home… and yet, we didn’t know it. That mistake has now been fixed.

Luckily, I found a spot in a small parking lot right near the ***washhouse trail***. A perfect way to ease into the day. The path follows the Orge River and takes you past several old washhouses, relics from a time when laundry was done collectively by the water’s edge. It’s striking how much women’s lives have changed since then — and thankfully so.

The walk is truly peaceful: you wander between water, greenery, and old stonework. A lovely mix of nature and heritage, perfect for a quiet break away from the noise.

***Dourdan*** (*ville de l’Essonne*) n’est qu’à quelques dizaines de kilomètres de chez nous… et pourtant, nous ne la connaissions pas. Une erreur désormais réparée.

Par chance, j’ai trouvé une place dans un petit parking tout près du ***chemin des lavoirs***. Idéal pour commencer la journée en douceur. Ce sentier longe l’Orge et nous fait découvrir plusieurs anciens lavoirs, témoins d’un temps où le linge se lavait collectivement au bord de la rivière. Quand on y pense, la vie des femmes a bien changé — et c’est tant mieux.

Cette promenade est vraiment bucolique : on marche entre eau, verdure et vieilles pierres. Un joli mélange de nature et de patrimoine, parfait pour une parenthèse tranquille, loin du tumulte.
