<h1>It's Tuttle Twin Tuesday!</h1>

<h1>The Tuttle Twins and the Search for Atlas</h1>

The Tuttle Twins learn what happens when hard working people quit.  What would happen if the producers gave up and left?  What would we do in a world full of only consumers?   How can people practice personal responsibility, without having a sense of entitlement for the things they think they deserve.

The strong man Atlas has quit the circus.  Will the circus survive without him?  The clowns feel like the circus is successful because of everyone, but they all quickly find out that Atlas was pulling a lot more weight.

The clowns think that the strong man Atlas received unfair treatment and that *they* deserve these nice things too.

<h1>Production and Consumption</h1>

The clowns do not realize that they do not produce as much value for the circus as Atlas the strong man.  Without Atlas, the circus is in trouble.

<h1>The worker is worthy of his wages.</h1>

When people try to 'spread the wealth around' and reward based on an equal share, the producers will reduce or even quit their production.  The consumers remain and eventually the entire venture withers and goes out of business.

The Tuttle Twins learn that Atlas wasn't always a strong man.  He was once a clown!  But he decided to work hard and become a greater asset to the circus.  He became a producer, not a consumer.

<h1>This book teaches children about basic economics.</h1>

At the end of the book, we ask our children a few questions:

1. Was the strong man Atlas selfish in demanding more pay and luxuries?  (no)
2. Is anyone entitled to the product of your labor?  (no)
3. What incentives exist to encourage you to work hard? (fair compensation)
4. Could the circus survived without the strong man Atlas? (no)
5. Why did the clowns act like victims? (they wanted unfair compensation)
