El amigo @emiliorios en su última publicación para la comunidad de @holos-lotus nos deja una [publicación]( https://peakd.com/hive-131951/@emiliorios/no-no-me-arrepiento-de-nada-pues-yo-si-quisiera-cambiar-algunas-cosas-arrepentirse-o-no-esen) donde reflexiona sobre las diferentes maneras de interpretar el arrepentimiento, uno de esos temas que nos toca a todos de alguna manera. Les comento… Mientras leía la interesante publicación de nuestro amigo pensaba en una reciente conversación que sostuve con un amigo de esos que uno tiene la suerte de ver casi todos los días. Él es de los que comparte la idea que el arrepentimiento es necesario porque todos nos equivocamos, una postura que sin duda tiene mucho de verdad, si algo caracteriza nuestra humana naturaleza es precisamente la limitación: nuestros sentidos perciben el mundo de forma limitada y eso nos da una visión relativamente parcial de la realidad. Así que equivocarnos y errar en nuestros juicios pudiera ser algo de los más natural. Desde esta perspectiva el error pudiera ser el origen de muchas situaciones lamentables que lesionan las relaciones que tenemos con los demás. Vistas así las cosas el arrepentimiento también debería considerarse como algo normal, y no solo eso sino también una necesidad, ya que nos daría la oportunidad de reflexionar sobre los errores cometidos y quizá de ese modo podríamos evitar cometerlos de nuevo. Sin embargo, pareciera inevitable que el arrepentimiento esté ligado a cierta idea de culpa, lo que indudablemente nos hace sentir mal. Y es que nos arrepentimos precisamente por eso, por la conciencia de que con ese comportamiento nos hicimos mal a nosotros mismos o a alguna persona cercana, bien sea amigo o familiar. <center> </center> Quizá por ese peso creado por el sentimiento de culpa es que nuestra humana inteligencia también ha creado otra manera de interpretar los errores, por eso podemos decir que cada error sirve para darle forma a nuestra forma de ser, para ayudar a conformar nuestra personalidad. Este planteamiento sin duda que también tiene mucho de razón, cada error cometido puede servirnos para entender las cosas mejor, lo que al final pudiera hacernos mejores personas. Sin embargo, esto es válido para cada uno de nosotros pero pudiera ser insuficiente para el daño que voluntaria o involuntariamente le hayamos causado a los demás. Son muchas las veces en que echando la vista atrás me veo cometiendo todo tipo de errores, algunos de ellos solo tuvieron que ver con decisiones que me afectaron solamente a mí, pero otros afectaron a seres queridos y personas cercanas. Son estos últimos los que me crean más sensación de culpa por no haber podido evitar esas situaciones desagradables, son esos los que más me mueven al arrepentimiento y cuando ha habido posibilidades también me han movido a pedir perdón. Como he señalado arriba creo que arrepentimiento y culpa van de la mano. Más de uno pudiera decir que la culpa es un sentimiento inútil, y hay mucha razón en ello porque esa culpa seguramente está ligada a algo que sucedió en el pasado y como todo sabemos el pasado no tiene existencia en el momento presente. Sin embargo, alguna razón debe haber en que seamos seres con memoria, para algo debe servir el que podamos recordar esas situaciones que hemos vivido en el pasado, pueda ser que el arrepentimiento sea una de las claves que nos permita continuar avanzando para la construcción de un mundo más humano, más civilizado, y más tolerante…un mundo mejor… Gracias por tu tiempo. He is one of those who shares the view that repentance is necessary because we all make mistakes—a stance that undoubtedly holds a lot of truth. If anything characterizes our human nature, it is precisely our limitations: our senses perceive the world in a limited way, and that gives us a relatively partial view of reality. So making mistakes and erring in our judgments could be one of the most natural things. From this perspective, error could be the source of many regrettable situations that damage the relationships we have with others. Seen this way, repentance should also be considered normal—and not only that, but a necessity—since it would give us the opportunity to reflect on the mistakes we’ve made and perhaps, in that way, avoid making them again. However, it seems inevitable that regret is linked to a certain sense of guilt, which undoubtedly makes us feel bad. And the fact is that we regret precisely because of that—because of the awareness that through that behavior we have harmed ourselves or someone close to us, whether a friend or a family member. <center> </center> Perhaps because of this burden created by the feeling of guilt, our human intelligence has also devised another way of interpreting mistakes; that is why we can say that every mistake serves to shape who we are, to help form our personality. This perspective is undoubtedly valid; every mistake we make can help us understand things better, which in the end might make us better people. However, while this is true for each of us, it may not be enough to address the harm we have caused others, whether intentionally or unintentionally. There are many times when, looking back, I see myself making all kinds of mistakes; some of them had to do only with decisions that affected me alone, but others affected loved ones and those close to me. It is the latter that make me feel the most guilty for not having been able to prevent those unpleasant situations; they are the ones that move me most to repentance, and when the opportunity has arisen, they have also moved me to ask for forgiveness. As I mentioned above, I believe that regret and guilt go hand in hand. More than one person might say that guilt is a useless feeling, and there is a lot of truth to that because that guilt is surely linked to something that happened in the past, and as we all know, the past has no existence in the present moment. However, there must be a reason why we are beings with memory; there must be a purpose in our ability to recall those situations we have experienced in the past.
