It's thundering outside as I write this, but the rain has yet to fall.
There's an eerie stillness surrounding me and the air is uncomfortably thick.

Maybe it's the calm before the storm...but I don't feel very calm.....

I've been reading a lot of post-apocalyptic books lately....the most recent one is of the zombie variety.
There's something freeing about that idea to me.
Traveling, living off the land, exacting revenge on those who would try to harm me.

Maybe it's the desire to have an actual reason for my constant fight or flight stress and anxiety.

I was reminded of my song *Malevolence* last night while I was reading.
It's an apocalyptic song of sorts, but the apocalypse is of the soul.

Being mentally, emotionally, and physically attacked and abused until you're dead inside.
The resulting spawn of the horrific assault instinctively searching out the aggressor and seeking revenge to completion.

*Poisoned by a stream so vile inside of me
Seeds that sprout a demon's child screaming to be free
Slithers out and flees
Bringing back your hollow eyes
A sacrifice for me*

I know....incredibly dark and twisty stuff here, but unfortunately based on real life events.

Anyway....back to the Zombie Apocalypse...
I was just discussing this potential debacle with *The Shane*, insisting that we are woefully unprepared for such a situtation.

We have no weapons or fighting skills, no food or water rations, and we live in a densely populated area.
Plus, we have 5 lazy cats.

*We're screwed*


I presented all these points quite logically to *The Shane*....he doesn't seem concerned...although he was likely not even listening and just nodding his head occasionally.

I tried to talk to *Snibby the Cat* about it, but he just stared off vacantly into the distance....
Or maybe he turned into a zombie...
