This time, I have come back to participate and contribute to the Architecture+Design Community. I would like to share a story about my experiences and impressions of my exploration of coffee shops that have unique and interesting designs and architectures. What's my story this time? keep watching. **Blnkspce Coffee Shop**   My trip this time, landed me at BlnkSpce Coffee Shop, one of the two local coffee shops with a minimalist building and characterful interior. From my observations, Blnkspce comes from the word "Blank Space" which means empty space as a place to gather and chat. Fyi, "Blank Space" is also a popular word for the name of a coffee shop. I'm sure, in some countries there must be a coffee shop that uses the word "Blank Space". Blnkspce Coffee Shop is one of the newer local coffee shops trying to make a fortune in Medan City. This coffee shop is located at Mojopahit Street no. 4 D, Medan Petisah District – Medan City. One of the busy areas in Medan City and also a place for several culinary trademarks in Medan City. This coffee shop is at an intersection of four roads, so car parking access is very limited. I decided to park at Petisah Market which is located not far from this coffee shop.  Blnkspce Coffee Shop uses a striking building, from a distance we can already find this coffee shop. The coffee shop building uses a black design on the walls. From the outside, we can see the "Blnkspce" logo displayed on the upper wall. I like the way this coffee shop decorates the top wall of this building by using zinc galvalum painted black. Galvalume roofs are often used as roofs in building construction today, because they have better prices and durability.  To reduce the impression of being barren and arid, Blnkspce Coffee Shop decorated the courtyard of this coffee shop using some green plants such as Calathea lutea or blood banana, which made the area of this coffee shop look beautiful and comfortable for visitors who come to this place to see.   Blnkspce Coffee shop uses a uniquely shaped door. The door has a half-round concept at the top and consists of two doors. I also like the choice of a striking door color, which is dark blue. In addition, to strengthen its uniqueness, the door handle uses a classic home style. The blue color also contrasts with the wall paint color used. ----- ----- **Interior Blnkspce Coffee Shop** I will invite you to see the inside of this coffee shop. Because, according to some of the reviews I've read, the biggest appeal of this coffee shop lies in its decor. Visually, based on my observations. This coffee shop is not very big, it's just that. The owner of this coffee shop, is very good at playing the interior and furniture in the coffee shop.     When I walked into this coffee shop. Gray is the dominant color here. We can see the gray color from the floor, walls, and also the roof, don't forget the bar table which uses gray color. For me personally, gray is the most appropriate neutral color choice for the indoor part of the coffee shop. Gray can give us an elegant and classy impression, besides that, because it is neutral, gray is easily combined with other colors. There is a saying that I like, good color is born from good lighting. In Blnkspce Coffee Shop, indoor lighting utilizes a large window at the front as a source of lighting and is also assisted by several lights that are turned on during the day. In a narrow room, with the predominance of gray like this, if there is no light it will look very gloomy. Therefore, Blnkspce Coffee Shop only runs its business from 8 am to 6 pm, or when the sun is still shining. If we talk about the concept of a coffee shop which is dominated by gray, this coffee shop is usually inspired by the industrial coffee shop style, which is usually more minimalist. Blnkspce Coffee Shop tries to make industrial style but more cozy.   In the corner, right in front of the bar counter, there are chairs and sofas, as well as a tube TV which at first I thought was only used as an interior decoration to give the two coffee shops a 90's impression. However, visitors can play PlayStation 1 (Playstation first edition) with friends at this coffee shop. Apparently, the tube TV is a slightly useful interior. Apart from that, I also saw many black and white photographs of several world figures that were displayed in this coffee shop.   The interior choices of Blnkspce Coffee Shop are also interesting to discuss. This coffee shop uses furniture in a modern minimalist style dominated by iron. The seating arrangement is also made with ideal distance between tables so that it makes us comfortable to sit here. Blnkspce Coffee Shop also has one more indoor room, which is used as an indoor smoking room. ----- ----- **Indoor Smoking Room at Blnkspce** The concept of a smoking area with air conditioning is becoming a distinct trend in my city. Lots, I find coffee shops that use a concept like this. In fact, I've read some literature that air conditioning will be easily damaged if used in a room with cigarette smoke.  Blnkspce Coffee Shop also made this one room with a unique concept. The number of seats and tables used is not too much, approximately only fit for 8-10 people. However, I was amazed by the interior choices of this coffee shop. We will see various cult movie posters of the 80s-90s that are displayed on this wall. Several posters of bands and music albums are on display in this room, just like we are in a radio broadcaster's room. Several vinyl records are also on display in this coffee shop to reinforce that impression. I also like some musical instruments such as classic radio, classic speakers which are displayed in the corner of this room.  I also had a chat with the owner of this coffee shop. From my conversations, coffee shop owners want to make coffee shops like classic Italian-style coffee shops where baristas and coffee shop owners chat with every coffee shop customer and get to know all the coffee shops that come.
