The program is about to begin, and the contestants are preparing in the backstage. One by one, they were called for their performances. The first performer sang "It Must Have Been Love" by Roxette. The heartfelt performance received standing ovation from two of the judges. 

The second performer is the man Susan saw the director is talking to. He is Marcus. The performance didn't do quite well with some lyrics missed. But he continued with his performance like nothing happened. Susan has a feeling it is intentional though. 

With Marcus' performance, what he heard from one of the judges is criticism, while others applaud him for his showmanship. He carried his performance despite forgetting some of the song's lyrics. What Marcus performed is "Mad" by Ne-Yo.
