Percy is a deaf person, and he communicates through sign language. Being deaf, his vocabulary skills are limited. His sentence construction is different from those hearing people. Wht makes Perct exceptional is he can interact with hearing people because he wants to improve his socialization skills. He prefers to widen out as much as possible. Thus, he decided to use social media. 

In the beginning, he has been looking out for fellow deaf people whom he can understand them easily, and by sharing ideas and opinions with them. He also decided to join conversations about social issues. At first, he is telling everybody that he is deaf, and he just wants to express his opinion being a citizen. 

Eventually, he joins more of conversations online. Of course, his sentence construction is different from hearing people, so after others read it, his post received a lot of criticisms about his grammar. His grammar wasn't wrong if read by another deaf, but some ignorant people resorted to harsh criticisms. The grammar Nazis seem lurking around to combat people with poor grammar. 

A person involved in deaf community noticed the grammar of Percy, has assumed he is deaf. So he look after Percy's profile, there he confirmed that Percy is deaf. He replied on those careless commenters who has criticized Percy's grammar, and defended him. 

As for Percy, he was hurt from the foul replies on his comment, and decided not to use social media for a while. It is ashamed how some people judge immediately on what they see in social media. They were bullies, and doesn't know the meaning of respect. As already said, Percy doesn't have the vocabulary like us, thus it is not that easy for him to out his thoughts to *words*, as many deaf people do. Hearing people should also be educated on their actions, and understanding towards people like Percy.
