I love your story.  It's like you really knew inside what you wanted to do, what you needed to do.... and not being true to it at first caused you much unhappiness. I'm glad you were strong enough to walk away from the money and follow your heart.  A lot of people never jump out of the company work grind and continue to work where they are not happy their whole lives. It's sad, but not everyone is that strong.
