***Bai Hinang ART EXHIBIT*** This is a photo of our last day with our certificates. I want to summarize the program and what important things I learned and I will share.  *Photo by Rene Guerra* # 🎨Our Exhibit OPENING 🎨 Is about Mindanao culture of the Philippines. We are all women artists in our first group exhibit. The venue was Felcris Centrale Quimpo Boulevard Davao City. *For the opening: june 09, 2018*  *Photo by Daryl De Leon Descallar* There was ribbon cutting and a live art session on ***alla prima*** * ***(1) First thing I've learned is when art exhibits have models to paint here, it is for practice.*** I did not bring my art materials because I felt like I would not make a good artwork looking at a live model. I thought, I should just observe the masters first. My peers in the art industry told me how *we're all the same*, we're here to practice and learn. I don't have to feel lesser at all.  ### Newspaper feature: Our exhibit was in the local papers. @fukumineko purchased one and tada! For safekeeping and can be clipped in my future portfolio.  Apart from that our works were mentioned in three other newspapers and sites.  *By Katrina Carriedo* # 🎨 Basic Portraiture and Impressions & Live Painting - June 16 - 17 🎨 I missed workshop 1 about basic colors. I was able to attend all the others. ### Portrait Making:  Instructor: Daryl Descallar Topic: basic Portraiture * ***(2) I learned more about proportions of the face.*** Basically, when you draw freehand you're supposed to use a few guiding shapes. I only used a circle, an oblong and a small cross in the center. But we were taught new proportions like putting lines and divisions for each part of the face. From eyebrows, eyes, nose, lips and ears. Here's my notes and sketches.  ### Impressions and live painting: For my first time I was happy I could make art and learn to conquer paint. I enjoy painting now!   * ***(3) I learned that impressionsim is simple, less details and focuses on the lighting and dramatic presentation.*** Here is my art. Our mentor ms. Maddy Dela Rosa was most helpful and her explanations are very clear. Thank you!  The models were very tired after posing for a long time.  *Kathara dance group inc.*  *Ma'am Maddy doing a sketch impression*  *Time to pose!* # 🎨 Making a Portfolio and Exhibits, and How to present ethnic Filipino culture properly- June 23, 2018 🎨 This must be the most important in terms of an art career. Making a portfolio and advertising your art the right way. * ***(4) I learned how to organize an art portfolio and I can now plan on how to present it the next time.
