I went 'off grid' five hundred and ninety-two days ago and it has been quite the journey since I got dropped off at this old fallow farm and built (continue to build) all my own infrastructure. I have been video documenting the entire process and have just recently begun publicly sharing some of the videos. I have been sharing the videos privately since I started the entire process which I call Jacob Goes Off Grid In The Woods. 'Day 1' is the morning after I arrived at this little place in the mountains in the 'dead of winter' on January thirteenth of two thousand and seventeen with my dogs, my wits, minimal gear and very little hard currency to work with. Slowly I have done my best to breathe life into a very old farm and give it all my best, 'learning as I go', and documenting the process as best I can. It has been quite the journey so far. @jacobpeacock In this video I go on a rather extensive rant about how pissed I am at having to deal with the trespassers. I thought about not posting this video but I think that it is important to share just how fucked up it had all gotten by this point and how absolutely fed up I was with it. I posted this in the article of the previous video but I think I will include it here so that there is some context for what I am expressing: [EDIT: I thought the following incident happened on this day but after reviewing some of the videos the incident actually occurred on Day 72 or Day 73.] Later in this day (Day 65) someone drives super fast up and down the road that borders the property a few times and eventually stops at the driveway and yells in a rather angry voice "I want to talk to you!". At the time it was raining and sleeting and I was planting the raspberries so they would not freeze that night but I stopped and after putting the dogs up in the shack I went and walked up the driveway to the road where the individual was parked. He was very hostile towards me and very upset that I had marked the property as 'no trespassing'. When I asked him where he lived he did not want to tell me but I later learned he lived about a mile down the road and was basically pissed that he could not hunt this property anymore. During our conversation he revealed that someone in an adjacent cove was equally pissed which gave me a good indicator about who the poachers in the area potentially were. He basically tried to threaten and intimidate me but I just smiled, laughed and did my best to diffuse the situation because ultimately I can't stand a fucking bully and if he had not been in the road at the time (and actually been on the property) I think I would have snatched the pistol he had out of his lap and pistol-whipped him with it before calling the law to come get him. To this day I wish I had video recorded the encounter just so I would have a great example of the sort of people I have to deal with. As always this is just a summary of the video's content and not meant to explain everything that I cover in the video.
