Hoy los recuerdos se me entrecruzaron cuando acompañé a mi nieto a su cita de Ortodoncia, me vino a la mente: Otra vez! pero desde otra perspectiva y en un contexto totalmente diferente.

Desde hace cuatro meses, iniciaron la evaluación y tratamiento de Ortodoncia a mi nieto, algo que ya sabíamos que sería así, debido a como tenia los dientes, al igual que mi unica hija.

Sin embargo, ambas experiencias han sido totalmente diferentes, desde muchos aspectos, tales como que en el caso de mi hija la responsabilidad de dicho tratamiento recaía totalmente sobre mi, ya que fui madre divorciada.

Por el contrario, en el caso de mi nieto he servido de apoyo a mi hija desde el aspecto de acompañar a mi nieto cuando ella no puede debido a su trabajo.

Four months ago, they began the evaluation and orthodontic treatment of my grandson, something that we already knew would be the case, due to how he had his teeth, just like my only daughter.

However, both experiences have been totally different, from many aspects, such as that in the case of my daughter the responsibility for said treatment fell entirely on me, since I was a divorced mother.

On the contrary, in the case of my grandson, I have supported my daughter from the aspect of accompanying my grandson when she cannot due to her work.

Asi mismo, la experiencia desde el punto de vista como abuela es realmente difícil de entender y explicar, esto lo digo porque cuando lo viví con mi hija cualquier decisión que se tuviera que tomar solicitada por el médico, yo me sentía en la facultad de hacerlo de forma inmediata.

Tal fue el caso de que a mi hija tuvieron que extraerle las 4 muelas del juicio, porque no tenía suficiente espacio para los dientes y se requería hacer dichas extracciones, afortunadamente y a diferencia de mi nieto mi hija tenía 21 años, en cambio mi nieto le están haciendo este tratamiento con tan solo 16 años.

Adicionalmente, cuando el medico me explica lo que le hizo y lo que planea hacer , ando tomando nota para que no se me escape nada y poderle explicar a mi hija; el día de hoy nos confirmaron que ciertamente le tienen que extraer no un diente sino dos 😯.

Cuando el medico me consultó si se haría de una sola vez, no tenía respuesta debido a que tenía que consultarle tanto a mi hija como a mi nieto, ellos decidirán y se lo informaran al medico cuando vengan hacer dicha extracción.

Likewise, the experience from the point of view as a grandmother is really difficult to understand and explain, I say this because when I lived it with my daughter, any decision that had to be made requested by the doctor, I felt empowered to do so. Immediately.

Such was the case that my daughter had to have her 4 wisdom teeth extracted, because she did not have enough space for her teeth and such extractions were required, fortunately and unlike my grandson, my daughter was 21 years old, instead my grandson are doing this treatment with only 16 years.

Additionally, when the doctor explains to me what he did to her and what he plans to do, I take notes so that I don't miss anything and be able to explain it to my daughter; today they confirmed to us that she certainly has to extract not one tooth but two 😯.

When the doctor asked me if it would be done all at once, he had no answer because he had to consult both my daughter and my grandson, they will decide and inform the doctor when they come to do the extraction.

Una anécdota curiosa fue que el medico cuando llegué con mi nieto, me empezó a consultar varios aspectos, fue entonces cuando le dije que yo era la abuela y no la mamá y todos se pusieron a reír.

La consulta de hoy fue evacuatoria y de mantenimiento mas que nada, pero ya se dejó fijado la cita para la extracción de ambos dientes, según como decidieron tanto mi hija como mi nieto, de hacerlo de una sola vez, para así tener una sola recuperación y dolor.

A curious anecdote was that when the doctor arrived with my grandson, he began to consult me on various aspects, that's when I told him that I was the grandmother and not the mother and everyone started laughing.

Today's consultation was evacuation and maintenance more than anything, but the appointment for the extraction of both teeth has already been set, according to how both my daughter and my grandson decided to do it all at once, in order to have a single recovery. and pain.

Para finalizar les quiero compartir la imagen que le tomé a mi nieto donde se muestra los dos dientes que le van a extraer, para dejarle el colmillo que es el que ven atrás.

Es importante destacar que desde un inicio se había halado de extraer un solo diente, pero en vista de los resultados obtenidos con el tratamiento hasta la fecha, se decidió extraer dos y no sacrificar el colmillo sino traerlo a su lugar.
