**Warning. Warning.** This message is about Jon Olson aka @jongolson. 

If you're someone who's complaining about the raw deal you got on TE credits from 2008, you should probably leave because this message may anger you. 

If you're someone who's going to say that I am only doing this because I'm sucking up to him....he doesn't pay me anymore so I get to be completely honest...and you should probably leave because this message may anger you.

<em>Okay, you've been warned...</em>

Jon Olson is someone that I consider to be a good friend. He also happens to be a mentor who I have learned a great deal from and I respect tremendously.

I've known him for almost 10 years now and worked for him for 3 of those 10 years. I don't say that to boast but to give merit to the fact that I feel like I know him well enough to make this post. I'm also secretly hoping he doesn't kill me...

Here's the thing I respect the most about Jon - his passion. It's unparalleled to anyone else that I've seen in this industry. When Jon is fired up and in his element, it transcends through the computer screen. It's quite honestly fun to watch! Over the last decade, I've witnessed this work for him and against him.

When you aren't in a place in your life where you're ready to hear the truth, someone like Jon can really get under your skin...and he did that to a lot of people who simply didn't want to hear that success is not an overnight thing. He's extremely honest to a fault and I have to say, if you aren't ready to hear the truth he's probably not the guy you want helping you. However, if you ARE ready to hear the truth and WILLING to try and put the work in, he'll have your back for life.

I know this from experience. I've come and gone from this industry more times then I can count. I've actually avoided him because I knew what he was going to tell me! All those nuggets we used to hear at TE Live (for anyone around who remembers those days) like <strong>"Get in line, stay in line"</strong> or <strong>"99% of the people won't do this, so make sure you do!"</strong> or <strong>"You have to put in the work, there is no easy button"</strong>....remember those? Yeah...he actually MEANT them! This is his biggest passion and (other then the Toronto Raptors who are still NBA world champions, by the way!) he truly wants to see you succeed!

Why am I saying this? 

No, he's not paying me to say this and to be honest, I'm not sure how happy he'll be about this post (haha) but I am going to anyways because of all that he's done for me. It's been a long 10 years and some of it was not easy but I am not sure I am able to really tell you just how much Jon has impacted my professional life. He'll give you the shirt off his back but you have to show up and be ready to do the work!
