Why does my generation suck?

*Why does my generation suck?* That's the question. Millennials are defined as anyone who was born between the late 1980's and the mid 1990's. I was born in August 1994, making me twenty two years young. I have trouble dealing with most people from my generation. I understand there's bad apples in every generation but mine has an **astronomical** amount.

The biggest problems I've noticed with the average person my age:
*- Blaming the previous generations for selfish problems.*
*- Feeling entitled to parents money.*
*- Unable to save any money.*
*- Lack of attention while attending college.*
*- No passion for anything.*

**Let's dive right into these problems I've observed.**

*Blaming the previous generations for selfish problems:*
- I can't tell you how many times I've heard some my age say, "The generation before us screwed everything up." Even if that is true, it is now in our hands to get it back to *correct*, right? Also another one I despise hearing is, "Everyone before us had it so easy to get a job making good money to buy a house at a young age." I'm twenty two years old and have a pretty decent job. It's nothing insane but I worked my way up a ladder to get comfortable. In the next couple of years I will be perfectly lined up to buy my first home. I have no college debt because I knew at the age of eighteen I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I wasn't going to take eighty thousands dollars and blow it on parties. I can throw a party with fifty bucks and have the same amount of fun.

*Feeling entitled to parents money:*

- Stop taking your parents money! Since I graduated high school I haven't taken a dime from my parents. I moved in with a roommate when I was 18 and had my own apartment by 19. I also own my truck (no car payment), a motorcycle, a dirt bike & boat. I have plenty of friends who also have apartments but parents pay most of the bills. If the parents cut them off, they instantly become enraged by the fact that they have to do something on there own. Your parents are here to give you guidance on how to get through life, not pay your way. One day your folks will no longer be around to hold your hand.

*Unable to save any money:*

- In my mind saving money is the biggest thing you can do in this day and age. My mind is blown by how people can save little to no money at all. Even if your only making $300.00 a week, how you can not save $25.00 of that? I'm sure you have a habit that could be kicked. Stop spending all your money on weed, beer, cigarettes, coffee & video games. I'm not saying don't do all of those things but put it into moderation! Make yourself a plan just like they taught you in grade school. Budget your money wisely and I guarantee you will be happier in the long run!

*Lack of attention while attending college:*

A lot of people blame society for this one. They say that society pushes college on you so hard that you have to enroll, even when they don't know what to major in. Stop blaming them and think for yourself! I never thought about enrolling in college when I was in high school because I wasn't ready. I wasn't ready to join the millions of unemployed college graduates swimming in school loans. College can be an extremely useful tool but if it isn't used correctly it's never going to help! For your sake and for whoever could possibly be paying your tuition: **pay more attention!** Stop staring at all the girls on campus and get your head in the books!

*No passion for anything:*

I'm sure most people in the world can understand this one. There is too many young adults that only think about that next high or the next party they will go to. There is a whole world to discover out there, you won't see it if you never go outside. Pick up a book and learn something, draw a picture, go take pictures and post them on steemit. There's a million things you can do besides sit on that same couch, with that same joint, with that same bud light, watching that same show on netflix. **GET CREATIVE!!**

I hope someone else can relate to this rant of mine! *Thanks for checking it out.*
