How to handle that impatient driver behind you.

Have you ever been driving down a residential street when suddenly you notice there is someone behind you in quite a big hurry?

How do you handle a situation like that?

Just today a young lady kept trying to ram the back of my car.

I guess she must have been in quite a hurry to get to her destination.

It's not as if I was driving slowly..... in fact I was going pretty fast for a residential street.... about 30 miles per hour.

So how did I handle the situation?

I didn't want to get angry.

It's possible that she had a very good reason to be in a hurry.

However, I love my car dearly and I take very good care of her.

I'm not about to let anyone ram into the back of her just because they're in a hurry.

I looked in my rearview mirror and made eye contact.

Once I finally got her attention and we were looking into each other's eyes she seemed to calm down.

I think she was just seeing me as an obstacle in the road........ another car that didn't have a driver in it.

She was able to tell that I was a real person though once I made eye contact with her.

I honestly think people just need reminding sometimes.

Let's not get mad at each other...... and let's treat each other with respect on the road.
