<center>  # Soursop Juice **A Simple and Delicious Recipe** Good afternoon folks! Recently I began a new little mini-series where I try different fruits and give them reviews on the STEEM blockchain. I began with a [Yellow Dragonfruit](https://steemit.com/fruit/@jeffjagoe/eating-a-yellow-dragonfruit-fruit-review) and moved on to the [Soursop](https://steemit.com/fruit/@jeffjagoe/eating-a-soursop-fruit-review), which was a tropical and pleasant surprise. Now I'd like to show you a recipe to make your own Soursop juice.  Soursop, also known as guanábana, is the fruit of Annona muricata, a flowering evergreen tree native to tropical regions. It's mostly grown in the Caribbean and tropical islands of the Americas, but it propagates easily and adapts to areas of high humidity and warm temperatures. I recently saw some Soursop at the local market, so I decided to give it a try. Due to its rarity and export process, it's a very expensive fruit. The Soursop fruit is dark green and prickly as you can see in the first photo of this post. They are large oval shaped fruits with a semi-firm texture. When you slice the Soursop in half, you'll notice that the flesh is white and juicy. It smells very tropical, like pineapple mixed with a coconut. The process of preparing the Soursop can be very tedious. The seeds are said to be poisonous, so it's important to make sure you remove all of them before eating. The good thing is the seeds are large and black, the bad thing is there are very many of them. I took the time to run my fingers through each piece of fruit to make sure they are all gone. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience with the Soursop. It has a very tropical flavor, like a mix between pineapple, strawberry, apple and citrus fruits. If you see some at your local store, be sure to give it a try! Some say it has very beneficial health properties that could reduce the risk of cancer or illness. **Here's a recipe for Soursop Juice:** # Ingredients: 1 large Soursop 2 Limes 1/2 cup of water a splash of Cranberry Juice  #### Step 1: Remove the Seeds Cut open the Soursop and remove all of the black seeds. This can be a long process, but it is worth the extra effort.    #### Step 2: Add Flesh to Blender Put all of the Soursop flesh into a blender   #### Step 3: Add Limes Put two limes through a juicer (or juice by hand) and add the juice to the blender   #### Step 4: Add Water & Cran Add 1/2 cup of water and a splash of cranberry juice to the blender. Blend it up   #### Step 5: Pour and Enjoy Once the fruit is well blended, you can pour it into a jar or enjoy it right away. It's best chilled, and should be consumed as soon as possible.  The juice has a smooth plasma-like texture and is slightly pink due to the cranberry juice.
