The Splinterlands 5-year anniversary event has concluded, and the community successfully burned a total of "380,759,257.877 DEC" and "161,573,729.434 DEC-B." Personally, I participated in the event and burned "33,837 DEC," which gave me 10 chances to receive a prize. Fortunately, out of those 10 chances, I managed to win 1 chance and received a Nightmare pack. While it may not be a huge win, I'm still happy to have gotten one. Now, without any further delay, let's move on to our "Battle Mage Secrets" of the week.

https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jeffqt/23tRxWdSMd7kqVpJx1KgRx4YHGob35Q1StDFx1twHd39j7vNdoib6zWpov8MEs5nNHsLV.png

https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jeffqt/23wM2VSkchzFUbJeZdKeN1czuHaBBPuTTUjcK2FuLGtqs4fzG86C3X6w7TFZRb1YvuHnZ.png
___ ___
https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jeffqt/23t76snkNiT3kxnW8m46SzvWp7iShPJkNzyubYnn9fHBqcb7zid3VwtTUBVpgdydBMe8k.png
https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jeffqt/23zm5PoCVLgt3LBfnxJjDsiT6M1SvxatsQWJnVcvYSyf7DZmNP1BZn98GZY8YHgmfbRq2.png
**Assigned for this week Battle Mage Secrets**
######
CHALLENGE RULES

https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/splinterlands/AK58VN4HC9Z2JQBBgKLAgefSo7mvE3KuikKVQPnGVHuRyGqgNLGW7zdF7YU6c5E.png
###### RULESET: Going The Distance ###### Description: Only units with ranged attacks may be used. Quix has the power to reduce the enemy's ranged attack by 1 and also decrease their units' speed by 1. These abilities are extremely valuable in this ruleset. For my first position, I selected the "Lava Launcher" as my tank or monster. It possesses the ability to attack from the first position, and its substantial armor greatly aids in absorbing enemy attacks. The high armor allows it to sustain damage for a longer duration, while enabling my other monsters to deal damage. In the second position, I chose the "Firecaller," a soulbound reward card that possesses the "Martyr" ability. This means that when the Firecaller dies, adjacent monsters receive a +1 boost to all their stats. This is particularly advantageous for my lineup, as it provides additional durability for the neighboring monsters. The increased stats benefit my tank, the Lava Launcher, and the monster beside it, the Runic Skyclaw. The third position is occupied by the Runic Skyclaw, a flying monster with a speed of 6. I placed it here because of the Firecaller's martyr ability. Since the Firecaller is likely to be targeted and killed quickly due to the "Target Practice" ruleset, which grants monsters the snipe ability to attack non-first position targets, the Runic Skyclaw will benefit from the Firecaller's death, gaining +1 stats. With its armor and a speed of 7, this monster has a higher chance of dodging enemy ranged attacks due to its speed advantage and flying ability. In the fourth position, I have the Ash Mirage, which also possesses the ability to decrease the enemy units' ranged attack by 1. Combining this monster with the summoner "Quix the Devious" results in a total decrease of 2 in enemy ranged attack, which greatly benefits my lineup, particularly the tank. The fifth position is occupied by the Flamesmith, whose role is to strip away the armor of enemy units. Equipped with the "Shatter" ability, this monster destroys all armor on an enemy it hits, regardless of the amount. This strategy proves effective against opponents who have monsters with significant amounts of armor, especially in their tank lineup. Lastly, in the last position, I have the "Fire Elemental." With its 3 damage and the blast ability, it can deal damage to adjacent monsters when it attacks. This provides additional firepower to my lineup. I placed it in the last position to avoid mistakenly mispositioning it at the front, considering its low health.
https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jeffqt/23zm5PoCVLgt3LBfnxJjDsiT6M1SvxatsQWJnVcvYSyf7DZmNP1BZn98GZY8YHgmfbRq2.png

**My Final Thoughts Through out this Battle:**
Upon observing the battle, I am convinced that I had the upper hand due to my strategic choice of using the Summoner "Quix the Devious" compared to my opponent's "Kelya Frendul." The inclusion of the "Ash Mirage" in my lineup played a crucial role in diminishing my opponent's firepower, ultimately leading to my victory. Although my opponent had the advantage of armor provided by "Kelya Frendul," their insufficient damage output made them vulnerable and easily defeated. The key factors contributing to my triumph were the abilities of my Summoner and the presence of the Ash Mirage, which effectively reduced the impact of the enemy's ranged attacks, rendering them less threatening to my lineup. ____
**SUMMARY:**
The use of the summoner "Quix The Devious" is a smart decision due to its ability to decrease the enemy's ranged attack by 1 and their units' speed by 1. This provides a significant advantage in a ruleset that allows only ranged attacks. Placing the "Lava Launcher" in the first position as the tank is a solid choice. Its ability to attack from the first position, coupled with its high armor, allows it to withstand enemy attacks and protect the rest of the team. The inclusion of the "Firecaller" in the second position with the "Martyr" ability is a clever move. When the Firecaller dies, adjacent monsters gain +1 to all their stats, providing additional durability to the lineup. This synergizes well with the Lava Launcher and the Runic Skyclaw. Positioning the Runic Skyclaw in the third position takes advantage of the martyr ability of the Firecaller. With a flying ability and a speed of 6, it becomes a strong candidate for receiving the stat boost when the Firecaller dies. Its increased speed and durability make it more likely to dodge enemy ranged attacks. The Ash Mirage in the fourth position, combined with Quix the Devious, effectively reduces enemy ranged attack by 2. This significantly weakens the enemy's offensive capabilities, particularly against the tank and other monsters in the lineup. The Flamesmith in the fifth position serves as a counter to opponents with high armor. With its "Shatter" ability, it can remove all armor from an enemy it hits, regardless of the amount. This strategic choice helps neutralize heavily armored opponents, making it easier for the rest of the team to deal damage. Lastly, placing the "Fire Elemental" in the last position ensures it can utilize its blast ability effectively. With its lower health, positioning it here minimizes the risk of it being mistakenly placed at the front and easily targeted by the enemy. Overall, this battle strategy demonstrates a well-thought-out approach, utilizing synergies between monster abilities and positioning to maximize the team's defensive capabilities and offensive potential.

That concludes this week's Battle Mage Secrets post. I look forward to joining you again next week for another thrilling victory in the battle arena.
