0.000 HBDMY FIRST MEET-UP WITH STEEMIANS
I've always been skeptical about meeting new people, I love to remain behind the keypad. But the urge of trying to get familiar with steemit and its modus operandi gave me a huge step to break this barrier. On clinic fm @ #Air-clinic last night, out of excitement, @fortune-inyang, @pangoli and I initiated a meetup, since we're all in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Pangoli made a joke out of it and scheduled 5am for the meetup. So, I erased my mind completely from such thought. At 12:35pm, I received a call from Pangoli, that he's heading to town, I was like seriously! I thought you weren't serious about the meetup, he said he was serious, we fixed time for 1:30pm. I informed Fortune-Inyang, but he claimed 'busy'. I hurriedly fixed lunch (I didn't want anyone disturbing me to come home early). I wasted time though, but eventually arrived Kilimanjaro(a fast food) in Ikot Ekpene Road by 2:30pm. I got to meet pangoli, @jamesub and his brother, anxiously waiting for me (na hype o), and we were all eager waiting for @samstickkz, till the extent that any guy that walks in, Pangoli will ask, is that Samstickkz? Twas quite funny. @jamesub's brother left us. They finally arrived @samstickkz and @annieben, I was excited meeting these hardworking people, who were just coming from the hub(work in progress). Pangoli and Samstickkz hosted us with doughnut, chicken and drinks. We talked about steemit and the way forward, and also made reference to @stach and @ejemai. Who talks about steemit without mentioning these names? Lol. Samstickkz showed us practically the value and project of steemit blockchain ranked as the first on blocktivity.info. And encouraged us to invest in steem and other cryptos. He also shared his testimony with us on his crypto life. @annieben left us. Then the arrival of @fortune-inyang and his friends, he only came to see our faces and snap picture, cos he left almost immediately(for a function though). We continued our conversation, on how we got to know about steemit, our experiences and challenges. Twas quite interesting, and Samstickkz made a joke of peeps that normally say thank you to @cheetah for upvoting their posts (this one really cracked our ribs). @samstickkz left us. Pangoli taught me lot of stuff, what to do before writing a post, different apps to use on steemit, different communities on steemit, and he quoted @ejemai, I should make it a business. I asked him, if steemit can handle the crowd and keep paying, since we ain't investing. His response was, other cryptos mine with computers, but in steemit we mine with our brain (that's our posts and upvotes). Honestly, I didn't feel like leaving, but I had to. I checked out 6:50pm. It was quite fulfilling and a worthwhile experience, engaging with nice people that have a common interest. I highly recommend meet-ups often for an effective community. Twas fun with you guys, let's do this again! @samstickkz @pangoli @fortune-inyang @jamesub @annieben
