Hi there Hivers! 👋 It is my pleasure to join this platform, I am looking forward to starting my journey here. I am Jessah Hinay, but you can call me whatever you fancy! My name feels a bit too elaborate for everyday conversation—haha! I come from Southern Leyte Philippines, and grew up in the vibrant Queen City of the South, Cebu! I finished my secondary education at the University of the Visayas and earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology which focuses on Food Preparation and Services in Leyte. Growing up, I never imagined myself becoming a teacher. I remember when people asked me which course to take and told me that I should take education because it was the most popular at the time. My response was always, "I study so that I can finish my school, gain a diploma, and be out of school after graduation, and you will tell me to take education to work in school." That seems odd to me.😅 My dream is to become a chef like Chef Cristeta Comerford the only Filipina Chef working in the White House haha. That is my childhood fantasy, and I opted for her. But, as life is full of surprises and irony, I ended up becoming a TEFL teacher(WFH) I am not going to school to do my job (still in my favor)🤣. This is not my first job, but it is the longest one I have currently. I also work as a Virtual Assistant, specializing in Social Media Management, Administrative tasks, Customer Support, and basic graphic design. (Side hustle) Before I had the opportunity to work from home, I spent three years as a banquet/food attendant for an outsourced catering company in Dubai. I had the opportunity to work in 5-star hotels, restaurants, government facilities, and Ikea in Dubai, which was an overwhelming experience for me. Working abroad is not an easy journey; it takes a lot of eagerness, patience, and a strong personality to overcome challenges on your own. After graduation, I encouraged myself to apply for jobs abroad and was fortunate to be hired. Moving forward, after three years, I decided to resign from my previous company to advance my career and, of course, my salary. I got the job I wanted, but it did not go well after a few months, resulting in the cancellation of the contract. Life became heavy, I did not want to go home empty I still stayed even though I did not have a visa for several years. The hard thing about it is you could work but the chance to get paid is very minimal because you are working illegally. I was so devastated, stressed, depressed name it all I experienced all of that but to surrender and stop was none of my options. I am just lucky that I do not have any immediate responsibilities, so I was able to let my brother finish his studies before my misery, and I let him take over, asking him to help my parents. My dream is to be financially able (no filter) that is why I do not give up. It is been a long battle, but my vision is clear not only for myself, but also for my family, my pets, and the people who are struggling, and my goal is to be able to reach out and help. Before I got my feet back, I had many helpless nights where all I could do was cry it out. I cannot say that I am okay now (financially), but do not worry, I already have my visa. 😊 I surrender everything to God, and I believe he is with me. So when he sees me struggling emotionally and spiritually, he sends me these adorable angels to help lighten my load. I want to introduce you to my fur babies, who have helped me stay sane during my darkest times. They are my emotional support. It may sound too dramatic to some people but my pets are my family here and I will do everything to keep them.🙂 Chasing your dreams is a bloody war between you and how the world treats you but the answer is always up to you, we can choose to give up or move forward. Life is a fleeting journey, and in the end, what truly matters is not wealth or status, but the love and the kindness you showed. Let's all live with purpose. Cheers!🙋 Thank you all for taking the time to read my post I truly appreciate your support, and special thanks to ma'am @antonette thank you for sharing this opportunity with us. God bless you ma'am @antonette. Hope you find my story relatable, let’s keep supporting one another SEE YOU AROUND HIVER'S😍 CREDITS: PHOTOS EDITED BY CANVA AND CAPCUT.
