Hello everyone.  So I wanted to bring you this quick tutorial guide ON HOW to  unlock your IPHONE for FREE! 
You finally finish your contract with AT&T BUT STILL want to use your OLD iphone 4 (yeah right! )  5 5s 5c 6 etc..with another carrier this includes prepaid carriers and other GSM carriers (NOT INCLUDING SPRINT OR VERIZON)  -  there is an easy way to unlock it FREE of charge.  

AT&T has a form available online to unlock ATT iphones regardless if you are an ATT customer or not.  As long as you have an ATT iphone and the IMEI - (usually located on the back of the iphone)  (i will explain further below)   you can try and process the request and get your iphone unlock for FREE.

Now there are a few catches (arent there always)  if your iphone has the following issues



1- APPLE ID LOCKED and you dont know the ID-  unfortuantely you are out of LUCK :-(
2- BLACKLISTED  reported stolen 
3-Still under payment plan (this is mostly for the newer phones iphone 6s and up) 
4- Not an ATT iphone (SPRINT TMOBILE etc..)  not compatible - form is only for ATT original phones.

So now that you meet the following criteria keep reading below to start the process :-)

1- so where is the IMEI of my iphone.  for the older models INCLUDING IPHONE 6 and below is listed in back casing

on the NEWER IPHONES it is usually on the ORIGINAL SIM CARD TRAY

METHOD 2 IS DOING THE FOLLOWING : 
Open the Settings app. ...
Tap General. ...
Tap IMEI/MEID. 
or YOU CAN also get the IMEI BY connecting your IPHONE TO YOUR PC VIA ITUNES.

ONCE the imei has been found lets BEGIN !! :-)

GO TO THE ATT LINK BELOW (copy and paste if you cant click on it)

Once you are on the DEVICE UNLOCK PORTAL click on UNLOCK YOUR DEVICE

ONCE you click on the option the first question is ARE YOU AN ATT CUSTOMER?  as per my example i CLICKED "NO" 
so all i need is the IMEI of the IPHONE - the below information (as seen on the above picture) will auto populate.

FINALLY fill out the PASSPHRASE CHARACTER and click NEXT.  AND YOU ARE DONE!!!  :-)

IT usually takes 1-3 days for it to get process - you can always come back to the INITIAL page to check on the progress of you 
UNLOCK CODE.  



FINALLY - IF YOUR PHONE IS "NOT" ELEGIBLE you will get the below INSTANTLY after clicking NEXT.

you can try these as many times as you like with any IPHONE ATT you have.  hey is worth the try specially since its FREE OF CHARGE.
