A free and practical guide to learning spanish in only 10 years with minimal effort
There are a lot of guides for learning languages around the internet.
Although they promise excellent results, you know thats never really going to happen right?

The more you pay, the better is it right? Hell no, the good stuff is all free these days!

Follow this guide of FREE resources and you will acquire the skills, like I have, to:
- Go for lunch (10 hours of drinking) with your Spanish-only speaking relatives.
- Eloquently apologize for crashing the rental car.
- Accidently order a pair of underpants at a bar.
- Explain that kids in New Zealand often play without shoes and your horrible stony playground is no match for them.

Really, how is this a playground? stones!?, common Spain!

Anyway, let's not drift off topic, Spanish isn't going to learn itself.

These are great places to sign up for free and learn the basics if you are into grammar and stuff.
https://www.duolingo.com/
https://www.memrise.com/
Duolingo is even helping to translate the entire internet and you can be part of that little job. Cool.

but really, are you going to set aside time to study?
EVERY DAY? 🙄
**NO**.

Because the key to success here really is consistency. Which is an issue if you lack commitment and determination like me

But wait! You are going to sit on the toilet and play with your phone every day aren't you? Well, lets look into that...
Why cut fruit or collect coins when you could be learning new words?

With ![voc.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmW9XQKTgi3gmWFEDgtmALg1GUhnj8P66wB5owUp9vf3rJ/voc.jpg) *Spaced repetition algorithm* I'm learning at least 20 new words a day, even more on days that I have an upset tummy 🤔
It has heaps of languages...

Thats a good start, but you still can't understand Spanish right? The failure of every system. Except this one!

I had tried watching spanish TV before, but I couldnt understand them, talking to fast and shouting..
When I had kids and discovered Kids cartoons!

Perfect!, Slow speaking, lots of repetition, simple concepts.
None are more clear and easy to understand than [Peppa Pig!](https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=pepper+pig+spanish)
![PP.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmSkSMfhbcT3FaMtg1RQhPXje88VHbnUCQmFwAYZoRkuRk/PP.jpg)
Episodes are only 5 minutes long, a perfect little study break.

When you graduate from Peppa, try [Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom](https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Ben+y+holly+spanish)
![bh.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQwRiis8thh7RyHLtfWoj5pb7K7GhvgQDN73rqgtM7Cdj/bh.jpg)
Another charming cartoon, a slight difficulty increase from Pappa, 10 minutes episodes

Spanish nature documentaries are the next step up.
Well paced speech, generally describing what you see on screen, perfect for learning.

Thats it, you are on your own now.
