Steemit is a very young community that has been growing rapidly, every day through promotion of Steemit so many new members have been coming onboard but many don't know their left from their right. Probably they signed up with the mindset of "*join Steemit, blog, upvote and earn*" But to me that is not the major thing, it is true that most people use that to promote Steemit but after that it important to get the basic training about how it works.

*One of those training is SOCIALIZATION*

Steemit is a SOCIAL MEDIA that rewards us for posting contents and we should not overlook the aspect of socializing with other people in the platform. Just as you make post and expect people to comment and appreciate your post that is same thing you should do for others.

Now, I know someone will say but I comment on people's post, there are comments and there are comments that has value. If someone makes a post and you just comment 'nice post' , 'thanks for sharing' or i followed you please follow back without contributing to that post I am very certain that you will either get zero upvote or get flagged because obviously you have a totally different motive or you did not read the post.

Attending meet-up also will help you socialize with fellow Steemian offline, it will still have effect online because you will meet with other members, get to talk with them and share ideas as well, everyone values people who adds value more.
