<html> <div class="text-justify"> <p>I decided to make my entry to the Sndbox Summer Camp created by @sndbox, @anomadsoul and @guyfawkes4-20. I choose philosophy because I honestly love it! So let’s start with this!</p> <blockquote> <em><strong><p>He decidido hacer mi entrada para el Campamento de Verano de Sndbox creado por @sndbox, @anomadsoul y @guyfawkes4-20. ¡Escogí la filosofía porqué sinceramente la adoro! ¡Así que empecemos con esto!</p></strong></em> </blockquote> <center> <img src="http://memorywalk.ca/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/swift.jpg"/> </center> <br> <center> <h2>Quality / Calidad</h2> </center> <br> <p>To begin to delve into this point, at first I want to question the nihilistic nature of that user who biasily believes that creating just one "quality" post per week is fair enough, and that, therefore, assumes that creating several posts per week would affect the quality of the content of them, is his/her opinion strictly valid? In fact, no, it's just his/her preference and opinion, and confidently affirming this would be a fallacy, something that could not be more subjective, especially if we analyze the background and trends of other users who create exceptional content daily or almost daily without even affecting substantially the quality of them. This type of behavior can be motivated by the growing influence of the nihilistic current (in its most negative form) that can be seen as a very convenient way to justify a sedentary lifestyle, when nihilism in the first instance is a philosophy that consists of taking an indifferent position to a universe that, in fact, is totally indifferent to us. We can be clear of how irrelevant and banal everything around us is, we can even freely take that "indifferent" posture, even if that leaves us falling into different biases, but that does not mean we must fervently work and promote this type of unproductive attitudes as if they were something inherently positive and correct.</p> <p>Questioning everything and acting indifferently to our environment is good, but those kinds of attitudes can cause us problems in our integration into a society in which it is almost a prerequisite to fit into the dominant social profile. And with this I want to make it clear that this doesn’t only affect us in society, because it’s well-known that interaction is strictly necessary for this "ecosystem" called Steemit, to affirm otherwise would be too subjective, and let’s be honest, basically this is a social network we use to earn money and then we set short- or long-term goals, so it’s appropriate to interact and relate with different users to achieve financial and professional success on this website (I would venture to say that this is almost a must here). Taking a puristically nihilistic stance would be more than fruitless in our journey through Steemit’s deep oceans, not only because you would miss half the experiences and attractions offered by this website, but mainly because you would be missing out on an immense and perhaps very valuable amount of information, and in any of the cases "information is power" and we all know that this phrase takes much more value in this digital age.</p> <p>On the other hand, perfectionism is the main responsible for this contrast; it is the eternal dilemma between “to be, or to not be”. A perfectionist attitude can be both profitable and fruitless in the worst case. Like everything, perfectionism has its pros and cons. While polishing a work or text with so much care can lead you to carve a precious gem, it can also make you walk in circles looking for mistakes and potholes where there aren’t even any. As they would say colloquially "everything in excess makes wrong" and positioning oneself in the well-known "mid-point", in this case (Steemit), instead of mediocre, would be the most profitable choice.</p> <blockquote> <em><strong><p>Para empezar a ahondar en este punto, podemos cuestionar la naturaleza nihilista de aquel usuario que cree sesgadamente que el crear un post por semana de “calidad” es suficiente, y que por ello da por sentado que crear varios posts por semana afectaría la calidad del contenido de los mismos, ¿es su opinión estrictamente valida? De hecho no, es solo su preferencia y su opinión, y el afirmar confiadamente esto se trataría de una falacia, algo que no podría ser más subjetivo, sobre todo si analizamos los antecedentes y las tendencias de otros usuarios que crean contenidos excepcionales incluso diariamente sin que sea vea sustancialmente afectada la calidad de los mismos. Este tipo de conducta puede verse motivada por la creciente influencia de la corriente nihilista (en su forma más negativa) que puede verse como una forma muy conveniente de justificar el sedentarismo, cuando el nihilismo en primera instancia es una filosofía que consiste en tomar una postura indiferente ante un universo que, de hecho, es totalmente indiferente a nosotros. Podemos estar claros de lo irrelevante y banal que es todo lo que nos rodea, incluso podemos tomar libremente esa postura “indiferente” arriesgándonos a caer en distintos sesgos, pero no por eso debemos fervientemente fungir y promover este tipo de actitudes improductivas como si fuesen algo inherentemente positivo y correcto.</p> <p>Cuestionarse todo y actuar de forma indiferente a nuestro entorno puede ocasionarnos problemas en nuestra integración a una sociedad en la que es casi un prerrequisito encajar en el perfil social dominante. Y con esto quiero dejar claro que esto no solo puede afectarnos en la sociedad, pues demás está decir que la interacción es estrictamente necesaria en este “ecosistema” llamado Steemit, afirmar lo contrario sería poco objetivo y cadente, y es que seamos honestos, básicamente esta es una red social en la que se gana dinero y se trazan metas a corto o largo plazo, por ello es propicio relacionarse con diferentes usuarios para lograr el éxito financiero y profesional en este sitio web (podría atreverme a decir que esto es casi un imprescindible aquí). Tomar una postura puristamente nihilista seria de lo más infructuoso en nuestro recorrido por los profundos océanos de Steemit, no solo porque te perderías de la mitad de las experiencias y atractivos que ofrece esta página, sino porque principalmente estarías perdiéndote una inmensa y quizás muy valiosa cantidad de información, y es que en cualquiera de los casos, “la información es poder” y esta frase toma mucho más valor en esta presente era digital.</p> <p>Por otra parte, el perfeccionismo es el principal responsable de este contraste, es la eterna disyuntiva entre ser o no serlo. Una actitud perfeccionista puede ser tanto redituable como infructífera en el peor de los casos. Como todo, el perfeccionismo tiene sus pros y sus contras. Si bien el pulir con súbito esmero un trabajo o texto puede llevarte a tallar una preciosa gema, también puede hacerte caminar en círculos buscando errores y baches en donde ni siquiera los hay. Como dirían coloquialmente “todo en exceso hace daño” y, el posicionarse en el tan cacareado “punto medio”, en este caso (Steemit), en vez de mediocre, resultaría de lo más rentable.</p></strong></em> </blockquote> <center> <h2>Quantity / Cantidad</h2> </center> <br> <p>On the other hand, sacrificing quality in favor of quantity can not necessarily be a profitable and prolific behavior, since affirming it, in fact, would be just another fallacy, just another biased point of view. The predisposition to take for granted things that are not 100% verifiable makes us falling into different biases, prejudices, and fallacies. Falling in this type of mistakes could make our content lacking credibility and objectivity (required, above all, in scientific, sociological, religious or political topics.), which can cause our content to become something of a very low quality, to base on fallacies is something that every user should avoid to not affect the quality of their posts.</p> <p>The saturation of content can lead to different opinions in your entourage and main market niche: your followers and the consuming public. So there are too many opinions, contradictions and disjuncts in front of this.</p> <p>Conformism is the antithesis of perfectionism. In general, users who opt for this attitude produce more content in a certain period of time than the perfectionist ones and this is usually confused with a diligent attitude, but is this entirely true? Partly yes, but does that imply that, in effect, you are in front of a promising talent and prolific creator? Not strictly or contrarily, what is a fact is that conformism has always been seen as something that leads to mediocrity at professional level and vice versa, but it doesn’t necessarily lead to financial or professional failure, that depends on many aspects that should be analyzed in detail in a topic that may perhaps become much longer than this one.</p> <blockquote> <em><strong><p>Por otro lado, sacrificar la calidad en pro de la cantidad no necesariamente puede tratarse de un comportamiento redituable y prolífico, ya que afirmarlo, a su vez, sería otra falacia, no más que otra postura sesgada. La predisposición a dar por hecho cosas que no son 100% comprobables nos hace caer en distintos sesgos, prejuicios y falacias. Caer en este tipo de cosas da como resultado que nuestro contenido carezca de credibilidad y la objetividad (requerida, sobretodo, en tópicos de índole científico, sociológico, religioso, político, etcétera), lo que puede ocasionar que nuestro contenido se convierta en algo de ínfima calidad. En mi opinión, basarse en falacias es algo que todo usuario debería evitar para no afectar la calidad de sus posts.</p> <p>La saturación de contenido puede propiciar diferentes opiniones en tu séquito y nicho de mercado principal: tus seguidores y el público consumidor. Por lo que existen demasiadas opiniones, contradicciones y disyuntivas en frente a esto.</p> <p>El conformismo a su vez, es la antítesis del perfeccionismo. Por lo general, los usuarios que optan por esta actitud producen más contenido en un lapso determinado de tiempo que el perfeccionista y esto suele ser confundido con una actitud diligente, ¿pero será esto del todo cierto? En parte si, ¿pero eso implica que, en efecto, se está en frente de un prometedor talento y de un creador prolífico? No estrictamente ni contrariamente, lo que sí es un hecho es que el conformismo siempre se ha visto como algo que conlleva a la mediocridad a nivel profesional y viceversa, pero que no necesariamente conlleva al fracaso financiero o profesional, eso depende de muchos aspectos que deberán ser analizados detalladamente en un tópico que quizás pueda tornarse mucho más largo que éste.</p></strong></em> </blockquote> <center> <h2>Quantity vs Quality / Cantidad vs Calidad</h2> </center> <br> <center> <img src="https://cdn.smartpassiveincome.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/The-Truth-About-Quantity-vs-Quality.jpg"/> </center> <br> <p>This metaphorical confrontation between these two concepts could be solved, on a personal level, by the discernment of the individual's priorities. We must take into account the different perspectives of the users of the platform.</p> <p>As far as I'm concerned, when writing posts, I prefer quality over quantity, but always being aware that my idea of quality, my standards and my perception of things are not a manifestation of public opinion, but of my subjective criterion in its maximum expression.</p> <p>For example, the present post: under the focus of my perspective I consider it an elaborated post in which, deliberately leaving aside that I’m completely responsible for its elaboration, dedication is denoted, however, this is only my opinion, and this opinion may be shared by other users as well as it may not. Like what I’ve just explained, this is what also happens with the everlasting versus between quantity and quality; the coin will always have two faces and the story will always have two or more versions, it’s up to each person to choose one or the other depending on their preferences.</p> <blockquote> <em><strong><p>Este enfrentamiento metafórico entre estos dos conceptos, podría verse resuelto, a nivel personal, por el discernimiento de las prioridades del individuo. Hay que tomar en cuenta las diferentes perspectivas de los usuarios de la plataforma.</p> <p>En lo que a mí respecta, al momento de escribir posts, me inclino por la calidad sobre la cantidad, pero siempre siendo consciente de que mi idea de calidad, mis estándares y mi percepción de las cosas no son una manifestación de la opinión pública, sino de mi criterio subjetivo en su máxima expresión.</p> <p>Por ejemplo, el presente post: bajo el foco de mi perspectiva lo considero un post elaborado en el cual, dejando de lado deliberadamente que soy el completo responsable de su elaboración, se denota dedicación, sin embargo, esta es solo mi opinión, y esta puede ser tanto compartida por otros usuarios como también puede resultar que no. Al igual que lo que acabo de exponer, esto es lo que también ocurre con el sempiterno versus entre la cantidad y la calidad; la moneda siempre tendrá dos caras y la historia siempre tendrá dos o más versiones de la misma, queda en el criterio de cada quien el decantarse por una u otra dependiendo de sus preferencias.</p></strong></em> </blockquote> <center> <h2>Conclusion / Conclusión</h2> </center> <br> <p>When any of these two poles are taken to the extreme, –perfectionism or conformism –, at that level it can only lead to attitudes that encourage unwillingness and inaction, any of these attitudes taken to a radical level can plunge the user into a stalemate or creative block, either by the extreme demand for perfection or by the reluctance motivated by the demotivation that produces a highly conformist way of thinking. Perhaps finding the balance between quality and quantity could be the key to developing a correct mix of terms ranging from maintaining a seal of considerable quality to a sufficiently high rate of posting.</p> <blockquote> <em><strong><p>Cuando se llevan cualquiera de estos dos polos al extremo, –perfeccionismo o conformismo –, a ese nivel solo pueden conducir a actitudes que incentivan a la desgana y a la inacción, cualquiera de estas actitudes llevadas a un nivel radicalista puede sumir al usuario en un estancamiento o bloqueo creativo, ya sea por la extrema exigencia de perfección o por la desgana incentivada por la desmotivación que produce una postura sumamente conformista.
