I feel like that whenever that I'm making a post, I'm thinking to myself: will a steam whale like this content and upvote it? Instead of: will the community appreciate what I'm writing about? Steemit feels like a semi-censored place to me. You only get rewarded for getting the upvotes from the elite, instead of getting upvotes from the average Joe as well. The system is also misbranded as a "decentralized social media". What is decentralized about Steemit, the platform? Barely anything. Almost everything is controlled by the founders. Only the currency STEEM is decentralized. Steemit is promoting societal unjust by saying that the more you own the more power you have got. Do we really want a community to be a place where everyone does nothing of importance, but rather purely out of the expectation of getting a few upvotes from whales and therefore earnings money? https://steemit.com/images/steemit-share.png
