This entry was supposed to be for Week 301, but I ran out of time. 😆 For this week, I present you, Dax Paragon.

Unlike the chibi form that I made in the early days of my joining the contest, this one has a serious look. 😆 *boombastic side eye* I think it added to the character since he is a prince, which usually royals are formal. I wanted for some strands sticking out for some hair texture. It was hard looking for a reference for the frill bow specifically for that angle, but made it through. 😆

Next is applying the saturated colors because half of the character would be off the light source. On the right side, I applied lighter colors to follow the light source, also noticed that I also lighten the eyes.

Time to add some dimensional depths on the bases. Every time I have the opportunity to make a fan art, I try some techniques that I recently watched on YouTube. Here, I am mixing the layers of colors, and then using a blending brush, I merge them and erase some hard corners. It is tedious since I am still trying techniques here.

Like I said in the previous paragraph, half of the character would be against the light so I applied a dark purple color on the left side on a multiply mode. I just played with the opacity and used airbrush eraser to some parts. I added some blue strands on the hair just a little contrast to the blonde color. On another layer on top, I used color dodge to apply yellow-to-orange glow hits of sunlight in the opposite direction. In the background are just clouds with a gradient sky. Lastly, add some texture to the canvas.
