My fiancé Tiffany and I headed out to Port Charlotte, like any other weekend road trip and we had everything planned accordingly. A beach day, workout for our 200 OTF Coach as a couple, eat relatively healthy; since her boys stood behind with their Dad. We were able to spend time around where we intend to make our future home and we spent time on the beach, we will make frequent visits to; when we move there. Unfortunately, there isn’t an OTF by the hotel we stood at in Port Charlotte and none by Englewood; so we knew on our way home, Sarasota had a bunch of them. It was an easy decision, we made prior; because Tiffa and I are intense planners. The workout was in Downtown Sarasota and we ended up eating a great Vegan brunch after the burn session. So once, we left the cafe; it became head home time and we stopped to get gas and away we went. On the drive, we were conversing about the next two trips and a third for our elopement. That’s three trips we are looking forward to and those will include the boys. Then we started discussing the menu for the week, as the plan was to go food shopping on our way home. A standard practice for Tiffa and me. We were probably 20 miles away from home and the trip was over 2 hours long. The thought was, we are getting close to home. Then the closer you get to Disney, the traffic slows up a bit; but we are still moving and I guess the blessing was that we all weren’t going as fast. But from one normal moment, we get rear ended and during some miracle maneuvering; the car spinning around and with incoming traffic - our lives flashed right before our eyes. The impact was the customary “oh shit” from me, but during the spin was me screaming “oh babe” and as I’m looking at her momentarily, I see an 18 wheeler coming and I had to get into save our asses mode and at the end of it all: It Wasn’t Our Time To Go” The guy who hit us was young and it was his first accident and his Mother and Sister came to get him, as his car was also totaled. She was nice enough to come to us first and give us water. The kid wasn’t drinking or on drugs, but was given a citation and no one was killed. Which is what matters. Nevertheless, Tiffany and I have to deal with the fallout. We will need to meet with our primary physicians, have to replace the car and all the other shit. We weren’t able to go workout, which if you know me; is excruciating and we hope to be back at it on Thursday. I need to workout for my not, just the physical; but for my mental. It was a harrowing experience, but being thankful that Tiffany was home to welcome the boys home and we get to proceed with our many plans. We must move on and although there will be many sunny days left, shadows will lurk as well and we can either dwell on it or keep moving on. Sun: <br> Shadows:
