Beyond the currency of any nation being a legal tender, it is one of the most frequently circulated objects, and its recognition is often dependent on the design and pictures on it. Here in Nigeria, the human pictures on our legal tenders have been those of past leaders who are often late but honored with them. Every currency is a source of pride for the nation and its people. Sometimes, I wonder if some past leaders would ever be honored to be represented on Nigeria's currency, but let me leave that for the future to decide upon. I do not want to imagine me holding a currency that bears the face of a past leader I am not proud of. This thus brings me to an individual for whom I would love to have his or her picture on Nigerian currency. I know we cannot be perfect or satisfy society; nonetheless, I have always admired an individual, and I did not even know her name until this very moment when I searched out her name because of the prompt. Let me wet your appetite. In recent times, rumor has it that cash is gradually getting scarce, along with fuel, probably because of the period at the end of the year. Though the price of fuel keeps rising gradually, the queues have reduced, but there is just one filling station nationwide that has tried to minimize fraudulent activities such as tampering with the fuel pump meter or sell her products (premium motor spirit and liquefied gas) at a fairly cheaper price compared to other marketers. source Let me paint this in a manner we will understand better. While other marketers sell fuel, for example, at N650 per liter, Bovas Company sells hers at N605, which is a fair amount compared to other marketers. During the majority of periods of fuel scarcity in Nigeria where filling stations lock up, Bovas filling station keeps her station open whenever there is fuel. The CEO, Mrs. Samson Adunola Victoria, has shown exemplary leadership and humanity for Nigerians by neither inflating exorbitantly the fuel price nor making it scarce or unavailable when she has supply in all her stations. I believe she breaks even and makes her profit, even though it may not be in excess like at other fuel stations. Her numerous fuel stations have also increased nationwide, which may have helped her in terms of breaking even and having profits since she has multiple profits from different stations. Fuel scarcity and quality have been major challenges in Nigeria, but driving into any Bovas Filling Station outlet gives me some level of confidence that I will get fuel that is quality and within reasonable cost, as it may relate to other filling stations nationwide. Well, it will not be bad to have a woman's face on Nigeria's currency. We have had too many men's faces there and not a single woman. I am for gender inclusiveness and equality, and Mrs. Samson Adunola seems like one of the few women I can recommend. Thank you for reading. I would love to have your comments and contributions.
