I am working on a plan to fully fund and pay for a family holiday in July next year with STEEM. These regular posts will update my progress.  <center> <sub> Source: [Pixabay](www.pixabay.com) </sub> </center> _______________________________________________________________________________ # It's been 10 days since my last update, so what has been happening? Work has been really busy, and draining a lot of my energy. This has affected my effort on STEEM, and I have been on autopilot a bit. Still, last week I got some decent payout and grew my STEEM holdings decently. Last week I added 25 STEEM to my savings and 40 STEEM Power to my overall account. Really pleased with that week, to grow by 65 STEEM overall in 1 week is super exciting. I did it through various means. I had some good @musing posts payout, which helped a lot. I also sold some Byte-balls I had been accruing from the world community grid program that Byteball are linked to. @jackmiller was a pleasure to do business with in this regard. Also swapped my little bits of BTC and XMR cloud mining into STEEM. *All in all, a very successful week* # Change of Plan. I have decided that I am changing tactics a bit in this effort to pay for a family holiday next year. I had been putting funds aside into the built in savings account here. These funds earn 0 for me. I have come to the conclusion that that isn't good enough, and have initiated a withdrawal of these funds. STEEM is a bit of a waste just sitting idle, so its time to use it. All my earnings now will be powered up and I shall delegate SP out for returns. I plan on delegating to @tipu - in my humble opinion by far the best vote buying and tipping service/investment on STEEM. Other delegations will be made or added to dApps, with the goal of both steem/sbd payouts and "future-SMT" airdrops. @steemhunt, @actifit, @dlike, @dclick and so on. I will consider delegations of this sort to be my holiday savings now. When the time approaches to start paying for my holidays, I will undelegate as needed and power down. This is not a sign I don't have faith in STEEM, on the contrary it is because I have high confidence in STEEM that leads me to this. Growth of crypto will come from adoption, and this is my contribution to that. I am here to be a part of a community, be in the game from early days, learn, help others, and improve my family's finances and lifestyle. Lets see what we can do over the next 7-8 months. # The elephant in the room Obviously, Crypto markets have crashed, and STEEM has suffered with the rest. I strongly believe that the fundamentals for STEEM are much stronger than many other crypto's, and STEEM is oversold. I so wish that I had spare fiat right now, as I think STEEM is an absolute bargain at current prices (0.46 USD as I write this). Never mind, anything I can swap into steem is happening at the moment, and hopefully the turnaround won't be too far off. Because of the volatility, and also because it might dent my optimism, I won't calculate my STEEM target for this holiday right now. Suffice to say that at current prices, I need a lot of STEEM to pay for my trip. Now is a good time to earn STEEM, and the price will climb. # What else have I been doing? The other thing I have started is playing @steemmonsters. Trading card games are not really a big thing for me, but I have fallen in love with the economics of it. You actually own your cards, you can win more - without spending any money (beyond the starter pack), and those cards can be bought and sold at any time. I have made some profit since I started playing (maybe 10 days ago) So far my Net returns have been 5.443 STEEM and 1.228 SBD. I have no real attachment to the cards, so am more than happy to sell valuable ones off for more STEEM/SBD. I have spent small amounts to level up some cards, so I can compete and win pack rewards.
