<div class=text-justify> What is your typical Saturday consist of? Wanna see how I roll on a Saturday? Well if you don’t, too bad I am going to show you anyway. Now don’t go getting the wrong idea, thinking that all I do is work. When you are a DIY person and there is things that need fixed or created, then you just Do It!! So let me show you what a good Splatterday is all about.</div> #### <center>A Splatts Style Saturday</center> #### <center></center> With @lil-splatts having a friend spend the night, we all were up a late. Hey I knew I did it when I was that age. All wound up and excited to have a friend over. Seeing how long you could stay up. I mean at midnight they decided to make a fort to sleep in. Not in his room but in the living room. They just asked if they could build a fort but didn’t tell me where. Well when I woke up.... #### <center>TA-DA</center> #### <center></center> A well designed spacious fort right in the living room. I definitely give them an *A* in fort building. After grabbing a some coffee it was time to meet my cousin at the shop. He was coming by to pick up a load of old wooden wire spools. Every time we get a pile of them at the shop I contact my cousin and he brings over his flatbed truck with a trailer and I load him up. One DIY’er helping out another. Hey maybe it runs in the family. <center></center> The timing of his trip over here couldn’t have been more perfect. You see I have been searching for a new driver seat for Mama-Splatts’ Lincoln Navigator and a Hood for my truck. No local junk yards had anything but 3 hours a way they had just what I was looking for. Oh and my Dad just happened to be going there to go Turkey hunting. Coincidence... I think not. I called the junkyard and had them put the parts of hold and my Dad picked them up and brought them back. He then handed them off to my cousin and he brought them to me. I sent him back with the money for the parts and a dozen duck eggs for my Dad. I love when things just flow together like that. So now I have a seat and hood to install. <center></center> First let’s get this hood replaced on my 1997 Ford F-350. The reason it need changed is the previous owner must have bumped into something straight in the nose. This caused the sides to bow up creating a big gap of both sides. <center></center> Not to mention the fact that I cut a hole in the hood to run my exhaust out of it. I figured the hood was damaged so why not have a little fun with a hood-stack. Now with my exhaust going to 2-4inch stacks in the bed I don’t need the hole in the hood anymore. I definitely could have used another set of hands when changing out this hood but I was able to wrestle and wrangle it into place. Just 4 bolts on each side and the hood was free to remove. 2 bolts hold the spring assist and 2 hold the actual hinge. <center></center> Taking it off wasn’t too bad, just remove the bolts from the spring assist first then take the hinge bolts out. It’s quite awkward to maneuver around but it can be done. <center></center> Let’s just say I am glad I wasn’t doing this on a new car. Putting the new hood in place was a bit of a pain by myself but my stubbornness had me struggle with it long enough to get the new hood in place. For $53 I got a hood that matched the color of my truck with just a couple paint chips and a sweet big guard on from. Now if that bug guard doesn’t say *Tough* I don’t know what does. <center></center> Now I don’t wanna ruin my Food Fight Friday post but I guess I will just have to give you all a sneak peak. After I got done changing the hood it was time to throw on some Duck Breasts to make some duck jerky. <center></center> I know it might seem a little weird that I have ducks and I am making duck jerky. No, I didn’t butcher my Runner Ducks, my brother is a duck hunting freak!! He gave me a gallon bag full of duck and goose breasts about a month ago and I just rediscovered them in the freezer. So while that duck jerky is going I grab @lil-splatts and we get to swapping out the seat in Mama-Splatts’ car. First the new seat needs to be cleaned up before I put it in the car. Windex and a soft bristle brush worked amazing when cleaning up this leather seat. <center></center> For $88 this seat is in great shape. Just a small little 2 inch split on the door side of the seat. <center></center> The rest of the leather looks a million times better than the existing seat. It’s dang near brand new looking. <center></center> As I am cleaning up the new seat @lil-splatts is in the car removing the old seat. 4 bolts and a few wiring harness plugs and this old seat was ready to come out. <center></center> I had no idea that these seats have their own computers in them, along with 3 motors. @lil-splatts and I started brainstorming about things to do with these little 12 volt motors. Then it was time for lunch and Mama-Splatts cooked up some grilled cheese sandwiches for everyone. Followed by a big glass of water I was ready to keep going. <center> Toasted to perfection</center> Now it was time to get the Duck pond cleaned out along with their house. I will have these kids trained up in no time. Pumping out the pond is definitely something they need to get the hang of. <center></center> While they were taking care of that I was cleaning out the hay from inside the duck house. Then I started getting all the pallet material moved to the side of the house. It was in the back by the shed on the grass and it was killing the grass. <center></center> Plus, last Splatterday I brought home the mini excavator and cleaned out the side yard. It had all the dirt from leveling out a spot for the pool still piled up over there. It kind of became a place to throw stuff that we wanted to get rid of. Lol. <center></center> This is a story of its own and I will have to take you guys back in time to write about that one. That truck never lets me down!! All that wood ended up getting stacked next to the fence, off the grass, and out of the way. I need to make some time to create some more planter boxes but I just haven’t quite been able to yet. <center></center> It feels great to work up a good sweat and get some things done around here. Speaking of getting things done... I had to hustle inside and get the Winner Announcement Post for @foodfightfriday put together. Time does fly when your having fun eh? With the grill tied up making duck jerky Mama-Splatts cooked up some BBQ chicken legs in the oven. Add a side of baked beans and some mixed veggies and you got yourself a good meal. <center></center> That just about wraps up a good ol’ Splatterday. Now it’s time to enjoy a frosty cold beer and think of what I need to do next weekend... Kidding Kidding... It was time to kick back and hang out with my beautiful wife and amazing kids for the rest of the long Memorial Day weekend. Just take one day and get it all done so the. You can enjoy the rest of the weekend. Hey look at that... <center> over 21K steps. That is a good day. <center> </center> <center>Until Next Time...
