lava flow from Kilauea....at night..... wildlife photographer of the year finalist! (https://steemitimages.com/DQmVvJTcrdmh3zHTv4C6E2SgDqK7QPaqU1h4D73kXbciwe1/22223.jpg) the lava flow from Kilauea on Hawaii’s Big Island periodically enters the ocean...... the sight is spectacular...... but on this occasion Alexandre was in for a special treat....... Kilauea (meaning ‘spewing’ )!!!.... is one of the world’s most active volcanoes....... in constant eruption since 1983....... and as red-hot lava at more than 1,000˚C (1,832˚F) flows into the sea..... vast plumes of steam hiss up.... condensing to produce salty..... acidic mist or rain..... A nice picture!.....But i am kinda worried for Alexandre...... who had to stand in Kilauea's acidic rain to take this picture :-) anyway.... enjoy! by: Alexandre Hec ...from France for: wildlife photographer of the year contest
