With the decentralized nature of cryptocurrency and blockchain, you want to access a platform and enjoy elements of decentralization, not many out there adheres to this and for some it doesn't matter as long as money is being earned while for some decentralization is crucial in using a particular platform. Finding oneself on decentralized platform isn't sufficient enough, having a role to play in decision making goes a long way in having people's voices and opinions heard, this is where governance comes in, hence decentralized governance. My DeFi experience doesn't extend beyond CubFinance and PolyCub simply because I was exposed to DeFi through LeoFinace being a trusted Finance platform on Hive. Knowing the faces behind a project puts my mind at ease as oppose to investing on platforms with little or no knowledge about the people behind it. Therefore I am not in a good position to say whether governance is being practice on other DeFi platforms. > Under all of this context, we want to launch the first xPOLYCUB Governance Proposal Vote to change the claim window [Source ](https://leofinance.io/@leofinance/introducing-xpolycub-governance-or-first-vote-reduce-the-locked-claim-power-down-window) More on that and details on how to cast your vote [here](https://leofinance.io/@leofinance/introducing-xpolycub-governance-or-first-vote-reduce-the-locked-claim-power-down-window) Personally this a first time experience where liquidity providers are having the opportunity to vote on options desired on claim period of interests generated form providing liquidity in DeFi. Decentralized governance is something we are accustom to on Hive as we saw with the recent 20% APR increase on HBD which went through voting system by the witnesses the community voted for, it is however new experience in relation to DeFi. We are witnessing change from the norm before us and I find it so amazing, you don't get this in traditional banking system, no bank cares whether you are happy with the period it takes for your investment to be withdrawn, wait till the time locked in or pay heavy penalties for opting out earlier. PolyCub platform is giving it's users the chance to vote on claim window period between 15, 30 or 90 days, that I find very appealing. *Gif by @mariosfame* ***We owe it to ourselves to make Hive great*** *Image by @doze* Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@joetunex/decentralized-governance-on-polycub)
