# After scanning headlines, this seems to be why bitcoin is spiking

A couple hours ago the president of China talked about fully endorsing blockchain.

Interestingly enough, he mentions blockchain over and over again and bitcoin is no where to be found.

Not really sure why bitcoin is flying on this news?

Perhaps it just one of those things were they just needed an excuse to squeeze the shorts, and they picked this.

If that's the case, hopefully this move holds, but I have my doubts.
