 A few weeks ago we hosted one of our online webinars and our good buddy @blainjones decided to drop quite the 'formula'. Blain is a 'no bull' kinda guy. He doesn't like excuses, and if you have known him for any amount of time, you'll know how much passion he has in building online businesses. But above that, he wants to see members of the community thrive as well. So this webinar we hosted, Blain went over his '6 steps' to building an online business. He was brief in his explanations of each step so I thought it would be a fantastic post this week, to get people in the right frame of mind :) ##### 1. Find An Evergreen Product What is an evergreen product? In online business circles, these are products or services that never go out of style. You'll need this product as much in a year from now as you do today. They are fantastic on so many level but when you attach an affiliate program with them, they cater to the affiliate marketing audience very well! Here's the thing...Evergreen products do not attract the 'get rich quick' people. They attract the entrepreneurs that stay the course. So when you build your online business around these models, you know you are attracting people that are serious and not trying to get rich in 30 days. ##### 2. Become THE Expert In That Product! A massive tip! And I'll show you a real world example of this...Blain and I relaunched ClickTrackProfit about 5 years ago. One of our members decided to learn absolutely everything about this platform. The in's and out's, from A to Z, they dove in and became THE go to expert for CTP. Beyond that, they created a fantastic product that covered and actually trained new members how to properly use and prosper with CTP. That product was [CTP Blueprint.](https://www.ctpblueprint.com) That member was @elianaicgomes Fast forward, Eliana is now our business partner in ListNerds and future projects. All because she became the EXPERT in an evergreen product and branded herself as that! ##### 3. Re-Purpose Content! Here's one I absolutely love! Your blog post can be so much more. Your podcast can become so much more. Your content on Instagram can be so much more. In fact, they can all come from ONE post on either of those platforms and so much more. Take for example the podcast I do every week with @taskmaster4450 Not only is it uploaded on Spotify and Apple podcast for future replays, I also upload it right here on Hive via 3speak. Heck this post here is a re-purposed (*and expanded piece of content*) that we did weeks ago on our webinar. You can literally take what you do, and create content for different apps all while continuing to build your brand. ##### 4. Build. Your. List! The last point helped you build your brand, but that's only one 'B' in the CTP lesson about the '2 B's'...Build your list! And to do that, you are going to need an autoresponder and a tool we will talk about in a minute. But here's the simple fact, that most people in online business hate to talk about and discuss...Email marketing still has the best ROI in any online marketing endeavor. Sure, social media is all the rage. Web 3 is the talk of the town...But nothing creates sales, leads and action more than a highly engaged email list. ##### 5. Create A Lead Magnet What's a lead magnet? A valuable 'freebie' you give to would-be subscribers that join your mailing list. See above ;) And what should that lead magnet focus on? Here's a suggestion...Some tips, techniques or strategies for using that evergreen product you are becoming an expert in of course :) This is a fantastic way to do two things at once...Build your list and build your brand as the expert! A lead magnet doesn't need to be anything more than a quick e-book that goes over a few strategies people can use. As long as it's got VALUE, you've got yourself a winning lead magnet! ##### 6. Test, Track, Test, Track, Test, Track... And finally, you should be testing different lead magnets, lead capture pages, social media endeavors, content you create...And see what is generating the desired results and which can use improvement. You can never stop testing and tracking, and it's obviously a HUGE part of our business model so much so that [we built Pelytics for easy testing and tracking!](https://pelytics.com/) No matter what service you use, you should be testing and tracking everything you do! *Is this gospel?* Nah, but I can speak from experience...These 6 steps are very effective! And the more you get into the habit you using them, you will start to see some pretty good results :) ----
