A lot of people try to untangle themselves from the complications of life, irrespective of the fact that life itself is a complication we cannot explain. I use to feel that these complications in life are what eventually make it risky. Now so many things in life would nudge you to encourage risk, you'd see ads on television asking you to embrace risk, you'd see this on social media, you'd see this on WhatsApp. Some others will tell you not to fear risk and that life itself is risky, not to an extent but on all fronts. The truth is whether risks are calculated or not, it still needs a sovereign bit of luck to turn out favorable I used to gamble with different business projects in the past, what I normally do was put myself in a position where the negative impact wouldn't affect my abilities to take risks that are more meaningful compact, and pertinent to life itself.
##### *I don't like the fact that risk-taking is preached as an act of intelligence and bravery.*
One thing is, that we cannot grow without leaving our comfort zone. One's comfort zone might be being satisfied with the returns they're getting in their favorite business, it might be being satisfied with being in 9-5 rather than seeking to be an entrepreneur and stepping into uncharted territories. This is also the same with people who have refused to do what will logically grow or increase them because they're scared it'll takedown to ground zero. Now, not all of these people are fools. Most of the people who aren't afraid of risks are the ones who later become so scared of taking risks later in their lives. Now, some people are even scared of taking calculated risks, this is because of the impact of the previous failure in their lives.
##### *Nevertheless, I do feel that we are agents of our undoing*
......How is this? **Life itself is risky by default,** having a family, building a home, and choosing a business is risky, working in dangerous jobs to earn more money is a risk and all these things systematically push us to embrace what true responsibility should feel like. In Nigeria it's often said when a man is 25, it'll be foolhardy for them to continue living with their parents. This is a socio-cultural and economic pressure that young people eventually succumb to. In a bid to prove that they're man enough, some people take risks that eventually hamper their growth in life. Now, this isn't even it. In my society, it's been set that marrying early in life is an accomplishment that people should quickly get to in life. Now, the financial repercussions of getting married without being prepared extend to many branches of consequences but sometimes this isn't considered because some people feel that taking risks as being married without being financially prepared is divine. I am someone who feels my life is already a risk due to niggling health challenges. By default, my decision should be centered on running away from risks and this is where it becomes tricky. For example, let's take a look at the presence or existence of causality. It's often touted that not leaping causes stagnation, stagnation is abhorred in life and this is because it's a state of dormancy where we don't know if each of our actions is influencing our lives. However, sometimes I use to feel that there's a level of stagnation we'd get to in life, it'll begin to seem like stagnation, but sometimes, stagnation is often caused because of the fear of moving forward. While moving forward should be inevitable, it's healthy when we begin to fear the repercussions of actually moving forward. However, in other not to dwell on these repercussions, what we do is create a balance.
> Now, risk-taking is how we grow, it can also be how we implode.
Our lives are systemic. This means that everything that happens to us creates a certain ripple effect. A person who has the skills of a seasoned investor either in crypto or real-time assets might not fully get to that potential because of making one bad choice. Now, while that choice might not be blamed on them, the ripple effect could forever cripple their ability to make reasonable choices in life for the fear that they might fail again. This is why it's important that understand that risk-taking can take us to places we might never come back from and this is why it's important to create a balance. People who are pro-risk taking should eventually look at a situation where they'll establish a balance. When people establish balance, the effect of failure hardly impacts their stances on trying over and over again. **PS:** different people are psychologically built for risks, hence this might not apply to everyone. At the end of the day, being scared to take risks isn't proof of cowardice.

> **Interested in some more of my works?**
##### [Crypto & The Outrageous Learning Curve: My Splinterlands Journey As A Case Study](https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@josediccus/crypto-and-the-outrageous-learning-curve-my-splinterlands-journey-as-a-case-study) ##### [Understanding & Adjusting To The Real Purpose Of Motivation](https://hive.blog/hive-123046/@josediccus/omkcyzoa) ##### [Thematic Expression: African Child (Shot & Edited On My iPhone 12)](https://hive.blog/hive-147010/@josediccus/thematic-expression-african-child-shot-edited-on-my-i-phone-12) ##### [How I Create Original Images for My Blog & Why This is Important](https://hive.blog/hive-153850/@josediccus/how-i-create-original-images-for-my-blog-and-why-this-is-important) ##### [Budgeting: Paying Yourself First With Crypto](https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@josediccus/budgeting-paying-yourself-first-with-crypto) ##### [Establishing Compatibility: A Case For Self-Improvement](https://hive.blog/hive-190212/@josediccus/establishing-compatibility-a-case-for-self-improvement)

#### @Josediccus, your brother-in-pen & heart
*I'm hoping to reach more people who are broken at heart and spirit, so share on any platform or reblog*
###
[My Twitter handle](https://mobile.twitter.com/PERCIVAL_JOEY)
Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@josediccus/the-seemingly-positive-inclination-to-risk-taking)
