In September of 1991, humanity was surprised at the discovery of Ötzi, baptized later as the "ice man".

in the mountain range of the Alps. Its remains allowed us to describe the oldest mummy in the world, preserved in good condition thanks to the low temperatures of the Finialspitze, the summit at 3,600 meters in which it was located.

####
Llullaillaco

The same happened with the famous mummies of Llullaillaco, found at 6,800 meters of altitude in Argentina. The bodies of the three children had been frozen for centuries.
what gave them the appearance of staying asleep. The cold had achieved what seemed impossible: keep those archaeological remains in perfect condition.

#
¿What do I mean with these mummies that are in the cold??

Astronomy has finally discovered its first "Mummy in space", which allows us to look back to the era in which the solar system and planet Earth were formed. The observations made with ESO's Very Large Telescope and the Hawaii-Canada-France Telescope have managed to detect Comet C / 2014 S3 (PANSTARRS), whose characteristics suggest that it was born inside our solar system while it was being formed.

The research, published in the journal Science Advances, has spread an ancient rock body that could be expelled from our planetary system billions of years ago. But as happened with the ice man or the mummies of Llullaillaco, this comet has been preserved intact by the low temperatures of the Oort cloud.

##
Oort cloud

Also called Öpik-Oort cloud, in honor of astronomers Ernst Öpik and Jan Oort is a hyphenated spherical cloud of transneptunian objects (that is, not directly observed) that lies within the limits of the solar system, almost one light year from the Sun, and about a quarter of the distance from the sun to Proxima Centauri, the closest star to our solar system. The other two known accumulations of trans-Neptunian objects, the Kuiper belt and the scattered disk, are located about a hundred times closer to the Sun than the Oort cloud. According to some statistical estimates, the cloud could hold between one and one hundred trillion (1012 - 1014) objects, its mass being about five times more than that of Earth

It has two differentiated regions: the outer Oort cloud, spherical in shape, and the inner Oort cloud, also called the Hills cloud, in the form of a disk. The objects in the cloud are composed of compounds such as ice, methane and ammonia, among others, and formed very close to the Sun when the solar system was still in its early stages of formation. Once formed, they reached their current position in the Oort cloud because of the gravitational effects of the giant planets

"We already knew of the existence of many asteroids, but all have been" cooked "by the heat and the proximity of the Sun for billions of years, this is the first" raw "asteroid that we have been able to observe: it has been preserved in the best freezer there is, "says Karen Meech, leader of the team of scientists that has developed this work. The rocky body, baptized like Manx for not presenting the characteristic tail - just like the cats of this species-, has been described as a "weak active comet" that was located at a distance of something more than twice the space that separates to the Sun of Earth.

Characteristics such as its long period of orbit, which stands at 860 years, suggest that this comet comes from the Oort cloud. However, its composition has led researchers to say that this rocky fragment is really old, but that after being expelled from the interior of the solar system, it has been preserved in the "freezer" of the Oort cloud. According to the conclusions presented, Comet Manx or C / 2014 S3 is the first object found from the time in which the solar system and the planet Earth were formed. Therefore, their finding can give us more clues about what happened in the universe billions of years ago.
