Anklet Drama
It has been a while I had some bean cake (Akara). I usually make them myself but ever since I ran out of bean flour which has been for about 3-4 months now, I haven't had a taste of it. When I woke up this morning, I was really craving for some. Just to satisfy my cravings, I went out to look for some.

Luckily, I found a lady who was frying some. When it comes to what I eat outside, I am always careful because I easily get irritated at things that do not go well with me. So to ensure I don't get irritated, I always scrutinize stuff. When I got there, I had to look around first and observe the environment. Then I proceeded to view where she kept the bean cakes and how she covered them to avoid flies from feasting on them. Well she did a good job I must confess.

So I bought some. While I was waiting for her to package my bean cakes, an advanced lady approached me. She greeted me and I responded. I kept a long face because I thought she was coming to ask me for some money. I was already getting pissed because she wasn't handicapped. So begging for money this early morning was a No No for me.

I waited to hear what she was going to say to me. She said she would like to speak to me privately. I refused and told her that she could say whatever she wanted to say at the spot. After all if it was something good, it will be beneficial to everyone. It was just I ,the advanced lady and the seller that was there at that time. So She agreed and started the conversation.

She told me how beautiful I was and since she didn't see a ring on my finger meant I was not married.
I didn't respond to her. I kept mute and waited for her to land. She proceeded to say that what attracted her to me was the anklet I wore. She further explained that a lady who wears an anklet, isn't an ideal wife material. That an anklet is for prostitutes. She advised that I removed it immediately if I want to make heaven and even find a good man to marry me.

According to her, no responsible man will see me like this to marry if I continue to wear anklets. I was really upset with all she was saying. But I managed to keep my cool. I didn't want to respond at that time because I knew it would have been rude of me to respond to her. I really tried to be calm. Deep down I was boiling with anger. I allowed her to keep talking and when she finished talking, I thanked her and then told her that I was married and have a child too. In fact it was my husband that bought it for me to wear and he is a very responsible man. I walked away.

I saw how disappointed she was by the way she looked at me. I have read a lot of stories tied around anklets. In the ancient times especially in Egypt, their women wore anklets to show their status which stated that they were married to wealthy men. I personally think that anklets are just fashion jewelries and nothing horrible is attached to it. Except what you attach it to in your mind.

**What do you think about anklets? Are they bad for women to wear?**
