SK Recipe Contest Week 9 Entry: Boring Asparagus? Give It A Twist & Roll!

After the Russian recipe, [Beef Stroganoff](https://steemit.com/steemkitchen/@joyrobinson/beef-stroganoff-white-wine-recipe-stroganoff-pasta-for-him-stroganoff-rice-for-her) that I posted four days ago, today I'm going to share a **Tuscan** starter or appetizer dish. 

Oven baked asparagus bacon recipe is fun and easy to make and with a twist by adding a pastry dough to give it more extra flavor.

Most of the people I know are not so fond of asparagus including my husband but every time I mixed it with bacon, he simply can't resist it. Of course, you can never go wrong with bacon and asparagus.

**Serving**: 2 persons

**Baking time** : 25 minutes
**Total time** : 45 minutes

**Ingredients**

8 pcs. Fresh Asparagus (large size)
150g Bacon
Pastry Dough
1 egg
Salt & pepper to taste
Oli-oli for garnish (optional)

**Procedure**
*  Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Wash and slice one inch from the bottom part of asparagus and lay in a flat surface.

*  Flaten  and slice the pastry dough  into strips about 1/2 inch wide.

* Begin wrapping the asparagus with the bacon in a spiral form with gaps in between. The key to a nice and steady spiral shape is to place the starting point of the bacon an inch from the asparagus buttom then knot in the other side when it's done.

* Repeat the spiral procedure using the pastry dough and place it to the gaps.

* Brush with egg wash then sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper.

* Bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown and the beacon is already a little bit cryspy.

* Serve hot with a dipping sauce (optional)
