**Hello dear Steemians!** After my first account was hacked more than a week ago I decided to make this post so more Steemians specially the newbies will be more aware & not to be the next victim of these bandits!

PHISHING LINK

Most of the hack reports I've read started with a link that you shouldn't click because it will lead you to a deceiving third party site that looks almost the same to Steemit. Look at this animal, spamming other new prospect victims using my account, acting like as if he/she's the anti-plagiarism bot @cheetah. Right @cheetah?๐ Another example. A steemit user leave his user name which you think is a normal spam, and then if you click the user name it will leads to the user's profile, **BUT!** and again, in a deceiving website that LOOKS ALMOST THE SAME to Steemit. Note: @purpleandgold user is not the hacker. [Source here](https://steemit.com/scam/@deathwing/warning-about-phishing-links). ____________________________________

PHISHING WEBSITES

Here are some of the phishing or fake websites Hidden on those links. As you can see, the fake name site that I've boxed in red is **"Sleemit"** and not Steemit. Pretty close huh!๐ Another one is **"Steemil"** Just like the other one, the letter "t" is replace with "l". ๐ and "**Steemit.com**" where you might think that the white dot under the letter S is just somekind of a white tiny dirt on your phone or laptop screen but take a closer look again! On the left side, it says is a very clear word: **"not secure"**. ๐ . ____________________________________

HOW TO AVOID BEING A VICTIM

Like I wrote on my [re-introduce post](https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@joyrobinson/my-account-was-hacked-but-no-regrets-just-lesson-learned-and-gratefulness), lesson learned: Be more **"Attention to detail"** and **Think not just twice but thrice before clicking** unfamiliar or malicious link/sites! Better be safe than sorry. **ONLY use POSTING key to post and comment** to prevent the hackers to steal your account. And the most important thing, **Always Keep your ACTIVE and OWNER keys safe at all time** and consider it your bank account password.

Helpful Steemians Where You Can Report This Matter:

@guiltyparties or @steemitcleaners Contact on [discord](https://discord.gg/aVJ5cGy) ___________________________________ **Hope you find my first post worth reading!** **Have a JOYful day Steemian!**
