Greetings steemians! 2 days ago I told you about a strange internet mystery in [part 1 of this series](https://steemit.com/mystery/@jphenderson/wtf-even-is-this-an-internet-enigma). For those of you that haven't seen it, basically this guy says he found a weird network interface on his VPS that seems to connect to some crazy networks that time forgot. Since then the whole thing has gotten even weirder. Apparently, the guy who found it and set it up so we can connect to it through his server has found some more servers on the second network. This is where things get even stranger. I had already told you that he found the bank server. Apparently, he had set up an account with them and since there is only one account allowed per IP address on the network and the only way we have to connect to these networks is through the one weird interface on his server, account creation has been effectively blocked for anyone else on this. He also found some kind of software repository though you need to know a specific link for what you are trying to access so this has been a dead end so far. But things definitely get stranger... Another thing he found was a link to some source code for a C compiler. Written in NewB( more about that [here](https://www.quora.com/What-language-was-the-first-C-compiler-written-in)) this software would have been created when Unix was new and has been obsolete for nearly 40 years. However, he said he had no problem downloading and compiling it though he did say that it took a long time to download. He therefore blocked access to this server on his server so as not to clog up the network connection.

The strangest thing he has found so far though is a very simple message board on this network. This message board says it was created on 14/7/81! Apparently, this message board is so archaic it lacks even a means of logging the IPs that connect to it or any type of account creation so they ask you to sign each message with a name so they can tell users apart. Besides the owner of the server I have been accessing this through, another guy I know also accessing this through the same server, and myself the only people who have been active so far on this message board are the creator and another guy who says he found it through the creator. The creator says that he created it the day before yesterday. On my calendar that would be July 14, 2017-- a full 36 years after the date posted as the creation date! In an effort to not freak them out or look stupid we have refrained from asking about the date directly but I have posted some questions that might give us some indication of the time frame though as of yet these haven't been answered. There has also been talk of a mysterious third network though even the creator of the message board said he had been unable to connect with it when I mentioned being unable to connect with it myself.

Like I said, this whole thing just keeps getting stranger and stranger. The guy who runs the server we are connecting to these networks through said he has found some more hits on the network but as of yet hasn't had time to go through them (he actually said he was distracted playing Pokemon Black, lol). My thoughts are that this is an elaborate ARG that someone has put together, albeit an imaginative one, especially since I originally found this on a Discord server dedicated to another ARG, the SVV. Whatever it is, it's fun and intriguing and I'm anxious to see what else comes of this so I will continue to check it out and will inform you of developments as they unfold.
